Stay safe <3

The water droplets splattered across the window, leaving a thump. Flashes of lighting decorated the sky, thunder shaking the earth. And Tommy couldn't help but grimaced about the thought of having to walk back in that weather, having to be stuck in that chaos of a storm. The blonde huffed shuffling on the wooden bench he was currently sitting on. Swinging his legs back and forth, as he opened up his phone once more- looking at the text he had sent his mother a hour prior.

He starred at the the message, it was simple, to other's it was a innocent message- one where the mother probably felt guilty for having to leave their child at school. But, as he looked at it, burning holes through his phone, he felt his grip tighten.

" Of fuckin' course. "

To some- this might seem ungrateful, because he could have just texted his father and gotten a ride home. But- he couldn't- because, his father was on a work trip and left earlier this Morning, - and his mother knew that. She knew he left- she had checked the weather forecast to see if the flight would get delayed, spoiler alert; it wouldn't. Since his flight was only a two hour one away. And would get there on time- and to put the cherry on the fucking cake of reasons why Tommy's parents are probably assholes sometimes, was that- she had offered to drive him back from school.

Thunder rumbled in the distance, making the twelve year old wince.

" it's always about work. "

He mumbled, tiredly. He was tried, sue him. He was tried of being left be-hide at school- he was tried of the hushed fights from the kitchen downstairs, he was tried of feeling like a ghost in his own house. He was tried of the tension that laid around in his home- like a ticking time bomb, waiting for it to snap- for a argument to break out. A thought nagged him, reminding him of the other week, when the time bomb had went off, a huge argument breaking out from the kitchen. Screams and shouts as people who had once vowed that they loved each other screamed at the opposite. And of course, he was stuck in the middle of it.

It was as if- it was as if, his parents only needed him for when they needed someone on their side. Someone to agree with them, or for someone to put in their own opinion on the fight, and honestly all Tommy wanted to say was; ' get your guys fuckin' shit together, for once. Please- or just break up. ' But he couldn't, he was stuck in the game of tug a war between his parents. Each side yelling at him to disagree with the other one, and he couldn't- because if he did agree with one of them, than the other parent would ignore him, as if he were a ghost and not their own kid. He was stuck in the middle of a tug a war he never wanted to take part of in the first place, and all he wanted was for it to stop.

" Sweetheart, are your parents coming to pick you up? Or would you like a dive home? "

A voice cut through the silence of the school library, one where he spent a bit to much time in after school hours- for reasons a bit to familiar to the same situation he was in now. The voice came from a older woman, Mrs. Clara, a lovely old lady who worked at the school library.
