Rain poured down across the woodland embroidered into the thick mass of shrubbery in Thunderclan, striking the forest floor in rough, violent strokes. An even angrier storm brews overhead; the clouds churning with rage and threatening at the forest that lies beneath.
A singular bout of laughter can be heard rising from the trees, hidden amongst the gully in which Thunderclan made its home.
Below the girthy thicket, a willowy, sleek she-cat stood in the midst of the camp, surrounded by a crowd of cats. The breathtaking belle had plumed details hidden in her dark fur, resembling the shadows which hid beneath the trees that staggered over the deep ravine and littered dead leaves into the hollow.
Facing the stunning cat was a rounded, plump-faced tom with patches of striped ginger layering over an abundance of thick, pale fur. His warm-tinted, friendly forest-green eyes contradicted against the she-cat's cold yet alluring deep blue eyes, which resembled dark whirlpools on a vengeful, starry night like the one tonight.
The tomcat's usually calm and collected expression was now morphed into a dazzled yet rageful countenance.
"You're insane. What happened to you?!" He hissed through clenched jaws, his green glare piercing the lithe she-cat's. The darker hued she refused to meet his gaze. She would have even been considered to be acting sheepishly if it weren't for her manic cackling, growing heavier as the tom spoke more harshly.
"I am not.." she breathed, almost choking on her own words. "Insane." The shadowy she-cat spat, ending her words in a chuckle and taking a step towards the tom.
At this, a hefty tom who had emerged from the crowd tugged her backwards. Provoked by her own clan mates, she snarled, attempting to fight back, but the cat was immensely stronger than her. Still struggling for breath, she fell to the floor with a guilty look up at the round, partially striped tom before her.
"You had everything you could have possibly wanted! A stable family, clanmates who respected you, a mate who loved you, a reputation, even.. but you threw it all away. And for what?" The tom snarled wildly, nostrils flaring as he squared his shoulders towards the she-cat, whose ears were lowering and blue eyes narrowing with callous. Despite the curl of her lip and the monotonous lashing of her tail, she remained wordless as the tom continued.
"This is your punishment," he meowed, his eyes flickering with unspoken emotion as he looked away, tears visibly welling up into his starry green eyes.
As he spoke, a horridly stick-thin cat approached, with unkempt gray fur and sickly yellow eyes. The cat seemed to be carrying a writhing, distinctively patterned bundle in their boney arms.
The she-cat's gorgeous, deadly blue eyes widened at the sight of the feline, her face turning to panic and her brows furrowing.
"C'mon, Solarstar, you can't.. you're not really doing this.." she stammered quickly, tripping over her own words. Once more, she relied on her manic laughter to comfort her words of dismay, side-eyeing the nearing cat with her whiskers twitching nervously.
Solarstar lowered his ears, trying to block out her words and continuing to avoid the sight of the ravishing, smoky black cat as she spoke.
Her tail lashed as she stood, beginning to snarl at the twiggy gray cat, who flinched in response.
"I'll- I'll kill all of you! You'll see. Every Thunderclan leader will suffer-" the beauty's low, menacing growl of a threat was interrupted by a single, swift movement of Solarstar's rounded tail.
The boney gray warrior, who had been unwrapping a vine from around the thrashing snake's jaws, let go of the venomous creature.
It sprung to life, sliding from the tomcat's grasp and onto the shadowy cat at an incredible rate, clinging onto her.
With a yowl, the darker-toned belle began squirming madly as the animal slithered up her spine and curled onto her face. In a matter of seconds, it sunk its voluminous, needle-like fangs into her skull, just above her right eye, creating pools of blood that began gushing from her head.
Solarstar glanced towards the she-cat, his gaze hardening onto the captivating feline, who was now convulsing in her own blood. The plump leader winced as the snake unhooked its saber-like teeth, dropping onto the floor rather ungracefully before slithering away, creating a gap in the crowd as the cats dodged the smaller, sanguinary reptile.
The dark, once-beautiful warrior stopped jerking her limbs and laid on the blood-soaked floor, her ears twitching for a few moments more before completely going completely limp. Her once mesmerizing, outlandish blue eyes were now dull and empty, gazing upon the nothingness of death.
The clearing was silent for a few heartbeats, before abrupting in an explosion of sounds: cries of the mourning, triumphant yowls from younger, more inexperienced warriors, and the gasps of mothers shielding their offspring from the rather gorey sight.
Solarstar himself was overcome by emotions. The white and ginger tom rested his unreadable green gaze upon the cat he had once called his love who was now, quite frankly, dead. Dead in the eyes of Starclan's mercy, dead to all of which had loved her once, and dead to Thunderclan and their conflicted leader.
