Chapter 7

Kyra was annoyed thinking about the person with Samuel. She kept looking at the time. After an hour, she couldn't control herself and thought of visiting Samuel's place to find out. Before she could leave for Samuel's home, her mom called from downstairs 'Kyra dear, come and have lunch'. Kyra went down by saying 'yeah mom, coming'. She went towards her mom and started praising her beauty so that she can leave without having lunch. Kyra's mom grinned by saying 'you don't need to flatter me, Kyra. I know you very well. You can go but please come before dinner. As I have already planned something good for dinner'. Kyra smiled and hugged her 'love you, mom. you're the best'.

Kyra was outside Samuel's home but was nervous to knock on the door. She told herself 'silly girl, you decided to come here. Now don't run away like this and face it'. At last, she knocked on the door, a girl with curly hair, dusky skin opened the door and greeted her by asking 'hello, who are you Ms.?' She replied politely 'doesn't matter. Can I meet Samuel?' Kyra heard a voice from inside 'Kyra?' Samuel came outside questioned her bemusedly 'what are you doing here?' Kyra started stammering 'I...I actually needed help with the assignment. I am stuck somewhere.' Samuel's mom came from inside by asking 'who is it, Melissa?' Kyra saw the girl responding 'it's Samuel's friend aunty'. Samuel's mom greeted her 'come inside dear, join us for lunch' and ordered Samuel and Melissa rudely 'don't block the way, let her come'. Kyra replied humbly with a smile 'no thanks, aunty. I have the assignment to do and I just came for that'. His mom said 'so come and have lunch with us. Then you can discuss your assignment with Samuel. She nodded.

While having lunch with them. Melissa introduced herself 'hi, I am Melissa, Samuel's childhood friend, and his neighbour and the only person who can tolerate him'. He smiled at her 'oh really?' Melissa smiled back at him 'uhmmm'. She felt insecure looking at their bond with each other. Kyra was holding up her tears. As soon as she finished her food, she said with a low pitch 'we will discuss the assignment tomorrow. My mom is calling me. I have to go'. Samuel worriedly asked 'is everything okay?' Kyra nodded and left.

The next day, Samuel thought of helping Kyra with her assignment. He texted her 'I will text you, once my lectures are over. Meet me in the library'. After the lectures, Samuel went to the library. He saw Kyra sitting there and working on her assignment. He knocked on the library desk and said with a smile 'can I sit here and help you'. For the first time, Kyra didn't smile back and just said 'uhmm'. He sat there and asked her 'are you okay? What's wrong'. She responded rudely 'can we talk later? I have to submit this by tomorrow'. He nodded as he thought Kyra is still worried about her marks.

He started helping her with a few assignments. He saw her and she was not even glaring at him for once. He thought of taking her out for lunch to cheer her up. Samuel was aware that if he will ask her for lunch she will definitely deny. Suddenly, out of nowhere, Samuel requested Kyra to take him to his family doctor as he is not feeling well. He started making faces as he is in so much pain by keeping one hand on his stomach. Kyra got worried and grabbed all her stuff and hold him by putting his hand around her shoulder and started walking out of the library.

They went outside, she told Samuel to wait as she was calling a cab. Samuel told her with a low voice 'I already booked a cab. Wait'. Kyra was confused but before she could question him the cab arrived. While in the cab, Kyra was so much worried that she could feel the pain of Samuel. She was about to cry and the cab stopped. The driver said 'we reached the destination'. They came out and saw 'the BBQ corner' restaurant. It was a beautiful restaurant with an amazing spot as it was away from the main roads. She was happy seeing the restaurant and saw Samuel smiling. She questioned him 'you were ill right?' He grinned 'Nope. It was a small plan to bring you here'. Suddenly she remembered Melissa and said 'sorry, I don't have time for all this'. Samuel stopped her by holding her wrist tightly. He pulled her towards himself and asked furiously 'what is wrong with you?' Kyra starred at him without uttering a word...will Kyra confess her feelings to Samuel?
