Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery: Cursed vaults

Chapter 2, year 1

Between buying my stuff and the sorting ceremony were only a few weeks. But it felt like an eternity. At home I did absolutely nothing except playing Little Big Planet on my playstation 3. It's a muggle game where you are going on all sorts of adventures as a cute customizable little puppet. I walk into Hogwarts and the hallway is full with students from all years and houses. How am I going to find Rowan in this mess. A witch with a strict appearance waits until everyone is quiet. Then she says that everyone needs to gather in the Great Hall for the sorting ceremony.

I walk behind the flow of people and I see a couple of first-years in front of the stage. And I see Rowan on the front row. With a steady walk I join the others. The witch with the strict appearance begins talking.

'Welcome to Hogwarts. Before the Welcoming Feast, we must sort all first year students into their proper houses. The Sorting Ceremony is very important. While you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. The four houses are called Gryffindor, the brave and chivalrous. Hufflepuff, the kind and diligent. Ravenclaw, the witty and wise. And Slytherin, the cunning and ambitious. Each house has its own noble history, and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. I hope you all will be fine additions to their ranks... and now for... Elizabeth Thomas! '

Oh God. I don't want to be the first one. What do I have to do? No one has told me what exactly I should do. With an uncertain feeling in my stomach I sit down on the chair. The witch places the Sorting Hat on my head. And he begins to talk.

'Hmm...very interesting. I haven't seen one like this in a long time. And what house are hoping for, hm? '

In my head I'm hoping for Slytherin. Because my brother is one too. I look up to him. Even when I don't know where he is now. I hope I will find him someday and we will be powerful wizards together.

'Ah, yes. I understand now. Best make it...Slytherin!'

The Slytherin table goes crazy and an enormous noise comes from that table. This is going to be amazing! I hope that Rowan is in the same house as me.

I say to her 'A slytherin! I can't believe it. I can't believe I'm really at hogwarts!

After me it's Rowan's turn and she is also a Slytherin! She comes sitting at the table and we look at each other and smile excitedly. We'll go on all kinds of adventures together from now on. The whole room goes quiet and the headmaster is about to speak.

The tall man with the long white beard and tiny glasses says. 'Welcome! Welcome to another year at Hogwarts. The past few years have seen a great weight lifted from our world. The Boy Who Lived, Harry Potter, is safe. Years from now, young Harry will be old enough to attend Hogwarts...But for now, it's your turn! Remember, while you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn you House Points, while any rule-breaking will lose House Points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded with the House Cup, a great honour. I hope each of you will be a credit to your house. Before getting any house points let the feast begin! '

We look at the table and all sorts of food appear on the table. From a full turkey until a nice caesar salad. I feel a gust of cold wind behind me and it's the bloody baron. 'Bon appetit, everyone!'The whole table is decorated with candles and the turkey is doing a little dance on the table. After getting to know everyone from Slytherin and eating all the delicious food, Snape led us to the Slytherin common room. In a queue we walk to our common room with the prefects on lead then the oldest students, and so on and Snape closes the line. We have a room in the dungeons. That's a little mysterious... We have a green torch which provides a little light next to the dark door.

The prefect says 'Our password is Salazar Parseltongue. You can't say this to anyone who is not a slytherin or else you will lose house points. Now come in.'
