Liam’s P.O.V.
I can’t believe what mum was told me over the phone. When I left to go on tour a little over a year ago, I left behind my best friend: my little sister Hannah. She and I have always been inseparable. It killed me to leave her behind for my career. The first month or so, we Skyped every day, no matter what time it was. She was still the fun, loving, sarcastic, funny girl that I love. But the girl that standing in front of me isn’t her. Mum said that she changed overnight. She used to be so talkative, and happy. Now she’s so depressed, and won’t say one word to me. It’s hard for me to experience that, especially with how protective I am of her.
“You must be Hannah,” Louis said, kicking off the introductions. This should be interesting. “I’m Louis.”
The thing about Louis is that he’s a hugger. So I was a little curious to see what would happen. My hopes were that she would be accepting of the hug, and show a smile. My hopes were shattered when she stepped away from his open arms, and not muttering a word. She just looked at the floor, as though she were studying every detail about it. The boys just looked at me with confused looks, and all I could do was shrug my shoulders. Not knowing what to do, Zayn continued the introductions.
“Hello Hannah, I’m Zayn,” Zayn said, introducing himself. He kept it nice and brief before Niall proceeded.
“I’m Niall,” Niall continued. “It’s really nice to have you here.”
Again, she said nothing. Harry was the last one up.
“Hello Hannah,” Harry said with a huge grin on his face. “I just know that we’ll get along great.”
Then he did something that I didn’t see coming. He leaned in, and kissed her cheek. She reacted out of, what looked like instinct, and slapped him across the face. All of the boys looked at the pair with wide eyes. Even I was a little shocked by Hannah’s actions. Harry reached his hand up to his cheek, and stepped back, looking at the ground. I can only imagine how much that hurt, because that sound was echoing through the room.
“Umm, let me show you to your room Hannah,” I said, trying to break the awkward tension in the room. I picked up her bags, and started ascending the stairs. She was quick to follow me. There were six bedrooms upstairs. Three on each side of the hallway. Louis had the first door on the left. Harry was across from him. The second room on the left was reserved for Hannah, with Zayn being across the hall. I was next to Hannah, with Niall across from me. I walked into the room, and placed her suitcases on her bed for her to unpack. She was busy examining the room.
“Can I see your phone Hannah?” I asked politely. She looked at me with what looked like disgust. It hurts me to see my best friend look at me that way. “Please?”
She rolled her eyes at my begging, but handed her phone over. I noticed that her only contacts were mum and I. I felt a frown tugging on my face at that. I took my phone out, and looked up the boy’s numbers to put into Hannah’s phone. Since she’s going to be staying here for a while, she should have their numbers. I already gave her number to them; although I did it because I thought they’d be great friends. Instead, it looks like I just gave four random strangers my sister’s number. When I handed it to her, she snatched it out of my hands.
