Eun-Woo POVFrom a far I watched as his heart broke. I know I had to be there for him but deep down I also knew he needed some time for himself. It's not easy loosing both your parents, I'd be lying if I said its easy to move on but honestly, the grieving stage was never easy.
The winter night brought in its freezing cold air as it started to sprinkle snow for the hundredth time today. As I walked towards him, my feet making a soothing crunching sound as it hit the snow, Ji-Hoon was on his knees clenching his chest as the tears continuously fell melting the smallest amount of snow. As his heart broke, mine did too. I hated seeing him like this. As I got closer he stared at his hand that held a Smith & Wesson M&P380 Shield EZ gun.
I stop in my tracks and stare at him in shock. He wouldn't, would he? He points the barrel of the gun to his temple and closes his eyes as the tears don't stop running down his cheek.
"JI-HOON!" I scream as I run over to him snatching the gun off him. He snaps his eyes open and stares at me. My eyes meet his red bloodshot eyes and for the first time in years I can't recognise him, he really did loose himself.
"I-" he blankly stares at me, tears start to swell up but I blink a few times to try and stop them from falling.
"Have you gone insane!" I say choking back on my tears. "Get a hold of yourself" I start shaking him aggressively.
"Joesonghabnida" (translation: Sorry) He says apologising over and over again.
"Joesonghabnida, Joesonghabnida, Joesonghabnida"
I hug him without saying another word. He wraps his arms around my waist and his head rests on my chest as he cries. We stay like this for a few minutes. He lifts his head up and sits down away from me, leaning on his arms for support as he looks up to the sky. I do the same and wait for him to speak.
"Gomawo" (translation: thanks) he says with a small smile on his face. I face him and see his eyes still red and puffy from crying. A scar on his neck I stare at the scar for a few seconds. Why have I just noticed that now? I stare back at the sky and decide to ask him about the scar another time.
"You know, I was there that day." I look back at him and make a 'hmm?' sound not having a clue what he was on about. "When my parents died I was there, watching but I couldn't do anything. I hid just like the coward I am and watched as the mother fuckers killed them."
"Wait, you know who killed your parents?" I stare at him in disbelief, why didn't he say anything before?
"It was the west gang." He coldly says. "They have been after my father since he locked up their leader 5 years ago."
"You're father is from Seoul, and the west gang is from Incheon, what on earth was your father doing there? Doesn't he know how dangerous it would have been for him to be there?" Is he being serious right now? He can call himself a coward all he wants but what the hell happened to the boy that could do anything he put his mind too?
"Do you think I don't know that?" He yells at me while getting up and then staring down at me. I follow and get up to face him. "I know he shouldn't have gone, but he still did. I tried to stop him but I clearly didn't do a good job."
"If the west gang was involved then that means they know about you or might have some acknowledgement of you." He nods his head. "We need to get you out of here." I take his arm and start moving him in the opposite direction I came in from. As soon as we start walking we hear a few car tyres screech.
