Maya's Pov.

"MayMay, this is for you", a young boy says to her handing her a rose. It was plastic but it will hold great meaning to their story.

"Thank you", Maya tells him pecking his cheek and making him blush.

Maya took a plate and walked over to the young boy who gave her the plastic rose.

"We can share this cake", she tells him putting the plate down on the grass and handing him a fork.

"You eat first because you are the birthday girl", he tells her while starting to feed her.

I open my eyes to see that I am in my room and not with him. Whoever he is must be important in my life. The dreams started almost a year ago. I dream of him giving me the plastic rose that I always have with me in my diary.

I look at the time to see that it was time for me to pray Fajr. I get up and go to the bathroom to freshen up and to take wudhu.

After I finish praying, I take my Quran and started reading it. I know that my sister was doing the same in her room.

Jade, my adopted sister even though I dislike that term. She is and will always be my sister no matter what.

I look over to see my cat sleeping beside me on the prayer mat.

Alhamdullilah, it is the summer holiday which we spend with our family and friends then it was back to school for me and my sister.

Senior year of high school

The year that my parents fell in love even though they came from different religions. My father converted to Islam because of the way he saw how mom prayed.

The peace that it brings to the one praying is serene and worth everything... I look at the time to see if there's time for me to go and see my sister Jade. Well, more like annoying her.

I still have time to go and bother my sister. I love her but sometimes she needs me to remind her that she isn't alone and that she has me as her sister.

I carried my cat and slowly walked to her room without disturbing my parents. I slowly open her bedroom door letting my cat in first to try and scare her.

She was in the bathroom, I could see her prayer mat already folded and put in its place.

I quickly hide under her covers while my cat is under her bed. I waited until she got out of the bathroom, which she did. She then took a seat on the bed where my legs were.

I slowly crept to her and started to tickle her. She yelped and started laughing until we fall to the ground on top of each other.

"Maya, seriously? You just had to...."
