Everyone has a story to tell about their lives. But sometimes their story isn't always about fairy tales. Because it could be about the monsters they had faced in their lives.

Author's Pov.

Coming back home was something that Maya had to look forward to ever since she finished her last exam. But there had to be graduation which she had to attend because of her family who were going to be there for her.

But what she didn't know was that coming back would bring pain, tears, and anger toward what she has hidden in her heart for the last four years.

"It's great to be back home. I miss my bed and Alfie", Maya says to her sister Jade.

The first Maya did when she got home was look for her precious cat Alfie was laying on her bed like he owns the place.

"What about me?", a voice asks her making Maya almost drop Alfie who was in her arms.

She looked up to find her aunt and uncle standing at the entrance of her bedroom with amused expressions on their faces.

"Of course. I miss you my favorite person in the entire world", she says to them.

Maya then put the cat down on her bed and walked over to hug them but instead of giving a hug to her uncle first Maya turned to her aunt Ayat and gave her a big hug.

"You are my favorite person apart from my parents and Jade", Maya tells them making her uncle Naeem pout like a baby.

"Don't worry, Uncle. You are my favorite person", Jade tells her uncle Naeem who gives her a full-blown smile and in turn pulled her into a hug.

"Thank you Habibty", Naeem says to Jade who was smiling.

Jade felt like something is missing in her life but now she felt complete after what she had gone through in her life. Ever since she walked into her parents' home she felt like she was home.

Everyone's story is different but hers isn't that different because of what she had gone through before she was adopted by her parents.

The love they have shown her was the same as they gave their biological daughter Maya.

Jason and Layla have never treated them differently. They love their two daughters equally.

"Can we have our daughters back now?", Jason tells them walking in with his wife Layla.

"No, they are ours for today. We are here to take them out to have fun with their cousins", Naeem tells his sister and brother-in-law.

"Fine....."

"Let's go before they stop us", Naeem says to the two girls who had grins on their faces.

They all walked out of the house alongside their parents and aunt and uncle by their side.

It was time for them to spend time with the whole family because of their Papa Hussein who hasn't been feeling well for the last few months.

But the only thing that was on Jade's mind was her past. What had happened to her parents? Where were they?

Did they even care about her or even look for her?

Flashback to About 18 Years Ago.

A little girl with her parents walking down the street skipping on the pavement. But what the little girl didn't know was that this was the last day that she will ever be with her parents smiling.

"Mama can we go to the ice cream place, please?", little Jade asks her mother.

"Okay but first you have to be a good girl. Let's go and get you the ice cream you want, my baby", her father answered her by leading her inside the mall beside her favorite park.

Her parents then asked her to wait inside the ice cream place but what Jade didn't know was that her parents no longer want her.

She had become a burden for them to handle as they couldn't take care of her anymore.

Jade's mother wanted to take her to the orphanage but her husband decided against it because it would involve the authorities which he didn't want.

Jade took a seat inside the ice cream place waiting for her parents while eating her favorite ice cream.

As soon as she finished her ice cream, Jade got up from where she was sitting and walked out.

Jade walked all over the mall trying to find her parents but they were nowhere to be found.

They left her alone.

Jade took a deep breath and walked toward the park to see if they were there she looked everywhere but she didn't find them.

As it was getting dark, Jade took a sit on the bench not knowing that her parents aren't coming back for her.

"Mamma, Dad where are you?", Jade cried for her parents looking around the park just to see if they were coming for her.

Meanwhile, her parents were on their way to another city to start afresh without their daughter. They didn't even have the guilt in their mind about leaving their little girl Jade.

It was then that someone called the police and social services letting them know about the little girl who was roaming around the park.

A woman and a man approached her taking a seat beside her. These were Kate and her husband.

"Hello there", Kate says to the little girl beside them. She looked at the woman beside her with tears in her eyes.

"Don't worry I am here to help you. Can you come with us, dear", Kate tells her taking her hand.

"Thank you", Jade tells Kate.

"You are most welcome, my dear".

They took her to the office as they needed to search for her parents until then they needed someone to look after her.

And that person happens to be Layla who is Kate's daughter-in-law.

Jade needed a place to stay so that the police can search for her parents. But after a few days of staying with Layla, Kate informed them that none of her relatives were found.

Her parents didn't want to be found and that's when Kate decided to let her daughter-in-law adopt Jade as their own as Maya already considered her to be her sister.

End Of Flashback.

"Hey, where did you go?", Maya asks her sister Jade.

Jade just shook her head and give a smile to her.

"You know you can tell me everything. I am here for you, Jay".

"Yes, I know and that goes to you too, MayMay", teased Jade.

It has been a while since Maya heard that nickname that was given him when they were young.

"Jay, come on. Let's go and have fun. The others are waiting for us", Maya tells her dragging her back to where the others were.

Maybe just maybe after this, You will be happy Maya. You deserve to be happy.
