"Okay, you can do this."

Jeongin stood in front of his mirror, going through his outfit one last time. He was nothing but a plain black tuxedo that he had stirred somewhere at the back of his closet. But, he did add a red tie instead of a black one; a pop of color, if he dares say.

Exams season was finally over (and it went by painfully slow for Jeongin) and prom was tonight.

It was the last night as students for everyone before they enter a new stage of life, but that wasn't what Jeongin was focused on. No, for him, it wasn't the last night of school; it was the first night he would spend with Felix together.

They would be seen together, they would dance together, they would spend the night together in front of everyone instead of being hidden every single time. And if someone didn't like it, well, that wasn't a problem for him; it's not like they would see any of their classmates again in the future.

"I'm not going to lie," he mumbled to himself as he shamelessly checked himself out in the mirror, "you look amazing for once in your life, Jeongin. Now-"

He was interrupted by his phone ringing which was at his bedside table. He made his way over and grabbed his phone, only to raise an eyebrow at the person who was calling him.

It was his dad.

He sat down on his bed as he stared at the contact name that was still ringing; what could he possibly want?

The last time they talked was months ago and after that, he figured that maybe he was busy so he couldn't keep in touch. He was having a debate with himself in his head; should he answer or not?

His thumb was already on the decline button but there was something telling him that he should hear what his dad had to say; he would be lying if he said that he wasn't curious about why his father would be calling him, especially on a night like this.

"Hello," he spoke after picking up the call.

"Jeongin!" his voice wasn't bland or monotonous like he would always have whenever he talked to him, it was as if he was relieved that the younger picked up his call. "It's...been a while, hasn't it?"

"Yeah...," questions were running around his mind; it was odd, so very odd, "I'm sorry I just figured you guys were busy and I have my exams going-"

"Yes...we know, we know," that caught him off guard.

He never told them about his exams or anything like that.

"How...did you know?"

"We called the school, we just wanted to know how you were doing, really," his day started, "they told us that you were doing great, except for the fact that you had gotten into another fight."

"Dad, that wasn't what it-"

"I know, son. I know it wasn't you that started," the older man interrupted him, "it wasn't your fault, I know..."

"Then...why are you calling?" Jeongin asked.

"I just...wanted to know how you were. You never tell us that, so when your school said that you passed most of your exams, we...we were thrilled!" his father explained, his tone was happy but he didn't know that his son's blood was boiling with what he had just said. "Oh my, you also didn't mention that tonight is your prom. It's also your graduation the next day as well, is it not?"

"Well, you could say that," his fingers were digging the fabric of his blanket.

"Why didn't you tell us?"

"Tell you?" he scoffed; the change of tone evident. "What would you even do if I told you?"

"Well, we would obviously come to your graduation," his father said like it was the most obvious answer to his question. "We thought it would be nice to show you support and be there for you-"
