Chapter 4- Super heros

Emma got drove to school since her mother didn't have to leave for work until 7:30 so they had time to eat and make it to school on time.... or so they thought.

" Emma I'm sorry I didn't know it would take that long." Her mother said pulling up to Emma's school.

" It's fine mom really, oh look there's Mack." Emma got really happy once she saw her best friend walking towards her hall.

" Oh Mack wait up!" Emma jumped out her moms car and ran to Mack who was waiting for Emma.

" Hey girl where you been?"

" Sorry mom and me went out to eat." After what seemed like million left turns and right turns they got to there hall with all the freshmen classes are held.

" Are we late?" Emma asked Mack

" No we are early." Mack looked down at her watch and back up to the empty hallway that is usually filled with social life but now it looked like a ghost town, but in this case a ghost hallway.

" Hey come back here!!" Mack and Emma jumped out there skin when out of no where they saw a girl running down the hall panting for air and a group of boys chasing her.

People started filling the halls again but this time to see what was going on.

" Wow I feel sorry for her." Emma turned around to see a couple of girls whispering to one another.

" Who is she." Emma asked. After a couple seconds of awkward silence and looking at each other a girl stepped forward she was plump with hazel eyes her hair was short with blonde in it.

" I don't know who she is but we went to middle school together some of those boys picked on her even there too." She said looking down at her hand she knew Emma was pissed and was frankly afraid of her. She backed away and joined her group of friends and they ran off not even looking back at that the poor girl who was being attacked by prevs.

Emma was overwhelmed with anger so she stormed over to the boys who were humiliating the poor girl. She looked at the girl for some reason she looked familiar, but from where?

" Emma wait." Mack ran after Emma.

She pushed the girl behind her blocking the senior from gripping the girl.

" Stop it you fucking weirdo!" Emma yelled at him with disgust written all over her face.

He smirked at her, it made Emma sick to her stomach. "Awe baby I always got room for two." He said cupping her cheek with his muscular hand. Emma started to smell his disgusting odor of cigarettes and alcohol. His face reminded her of a rat that's ate too much cheese.

"Back away from her you jerk" Mack yelled pushing the senior off of Emma.

" Cole stop this now!" Mack yelled pushing him again but it didn't do any think but amuse Cole.

" So you like it rough?" Cole laughed while picking Mack up and throwing her over his shoulder.

" Put me down!" Mack was screaming and punching his back. even that wasn't helping it just made him mad. He tighten his gripped on her, she let out a scream of pain and no one was helping her everyone just watched. Emma was terrified she didn't know what to do but she had to save her friend. She did the only think she knew that would work, she ran up to cole and kicked him in his junk. He dropped Mack on the floor and fell on his knees holding his man pride in excruciating pain. His friends fell silent watching him cry and beg for mercy.

Emma without thinking picked Mack up from the floor and took her and the girls hand and ran off not stoping until they were at on the parking lot.

" Are.....you.....o..k?" Emma asked Mack in between breathes. Mack fell to the group panting hard.

" I had that under control." she stopped and looked up at Emma. " But thank you." Mack said trying to get up to give Emma a hug. They were in the middle of 'thank you for saving my life' hug when they heard a faint sob. Emma realized that they weren't alone, that she gripped another girls hand as well.

She ran over to the girl who she just saved. She was in a ball crying her eyes out, Emma sat beside the girl rubbing her back.

" Whats your name?" Mack asked standing in front of her. The girl looked up at Mack and started crying even more.

" Stop it your scaring her."

" I'm sorry I'm so sorry , I'm sorry, I'm sorry......" The girl mindlessly repeated to herself rocking back and forth.

Mack through her hands up in defeat and walked away.

" It's ok no one will hurt you I promise." Emma said trying to comfort her.

" If they try anything ever again i'll just have to go all ninja on them." Mack said failing at a karate kick. The girl starting laughing Emma and Mack both looked at her surprised as hell.

" Umm......... so what's your name?" Mack said very slow making sure not to scare the girl.

" It's Stradford.......... Laycee Stradford." She said looking up at both Emma and Mack.

" Omg your the girl off of Facebook." Emma stated realizing where she saw the girl.

" Yeah............" she said looking back down Emma saw her mascara running down her face and falling off her cheeks and onto her lap.

" Listen we will make sure nothing else happens to you." Mack said kneeling down beside Laycee.

" Oh no you already done so much for me." she said jumping up and dusting her pants off.

" What if we wanted you to be friends with us?" Emma asked hoping she would say yes.

She stood there not saying a word, starring at them like they were insane.

" Ok then we were going to ask you to eat lunch with us...... but never mind." Mack lead Emma away from Laycee.

" What are you doing?!" Emma yelled-whispered to Mack.

" Just watch." she said and winked at her

" Good bye Laycee." Mack called out to her.

" Five, Four, Three, Two."

" Wait up." Emma and Mack turned around to find Laycee running after them.

" I would love to be friends with y'all." she said smiling.

" Then come on!" Mack said locking arms with her.

" So what are you guys super heroes or something?" Laycee asked laughing.

" What do you mean?" Mack was laughing so hard, she almost fell on the ground laughing.

" I mean you saved me from those guys so I thought y'all was the school super heroes." Mack looked at Emma and smiled.

" Yeah I guess we are."
