"Ready," Jasmine asks. No I wanted to respond because I feel like I'm going to get my ass beat up for the little fight I got with Jackson.
Jasmine mom doesn't seem the nicest nor the most forgiven.
"I think so." I probably look unsure because jasmine gave me a concerned face.
"It's fine, you don't have to do this. I'll just get my things and we'll get out of here."
"No, I want to make things right with your parents before we get serious." I reach for her hand and I hold it tightly.
She looks down at our connect hands and smiles a little. She looks back at me. She opens her mouth to say something but then the front door opens.
We both turn our heads. I see Jasmine mom looking right at us. Shit.
"Jasmine, what are you doing?" She asked
"I was actually going inside." Jasmine shoots me a smile that kinda meant "you'll be fine."
I can be fine. Just be yourself.
I realized that she slip her hand in mine. I remove my hand from hers to Shake Mrs.Moores hand.
But she doesn't shake my hand. She just looks at it. Okay then. I take back my hand and note that this is going to be way hard to get Mrs. Moore on her good side.
"Hello , Mrs. Moore. I'm sorry intrupprd but I was wondering if I can speak to you."
She looks at me and then Jasmine and back at me.
"Why not," she says with a tight smile. She leave expecting us to follow her, which we do.
She leads up to the living room and right as she sits down, she says, "would you like to have some water, coffee, or tea perhaps?"
"Mmm.. water would be great." I sit and see Jasmine taking one after me.
"Jasmine go fetch us some water and when done leave us." She makes no eye contact with her own daughter. She's looking at me, actually observing me.
"I will get the water but I want to stay," her form voice, tells me that she will be staying no matter what.
"Evan asked to talk to me. He will only talk to me."
"Mother, I'm staying. I know how harsh you can be and I don't want him—"
"Jasmine, he wants to talk to me. Me. I didn't not hear anything about you." She's frustrated with Jasmine.
