Hanna -
Hadley wouldn't stop rambling about the party that we were attending later. My mind occasionally traveled to the thought of how Harry would react once he realized that I was in fact alive. I knew that eventually he would find out but this was a weird way
I kept chewing on my lip and the inside of my cheek so my lip started to peel at an unattractive way.
I flipped through channels on my TV as Hadley drilled me with questions about what I was going to wear.
"Hey can I stay here for awhile my roommate is being a dick." Hadley suddenly pauses.
I nodded, have her company was always soothing in the most annoying way. "You should just move in, we spend most of our time together anyways."
"Nice thinking Sullivan." Hadley jokes and takes a handful of the popcorn.
"Why are we watching movies and eating popcorn at lunch time again"
"Because we can." Hadley goes in for another handful of popcorn.
"Slow down Hadley your eating it all!" I complain as she downs a whole bottle of Coke.
"Some days I feel fat so let me be fat."
"Preach." I shook with laughter and turn to watch the TV. It was an old rerun on a dated episode of the Big Bang Theory. I settled into the couch and tried to get into the episode.
After a watching six episode of fits of laughter and handfuls of popcorn and long gulps of Coke, me and Hadley called it quits. By now it was already six and the party started at 8.
Hadley ran around my apartment in search of her missing flattening iron. Her heels clicked loudly as she ran against the hardwood.
Hadley heard that Jake was going to be there. He was a healthy distraction. Me and Jake friendship had started a two weeks before I ever met Harry.
I remember that day vividly. It was my first day in Homes Chapel after relocating from London. I had decided to attend that day of school even though I had only come. No one talked to me and I was regarded as an outcast. Jake, the-not-so-popular-but-attractive jock, took me in and befriended me immediately. We would always walk home together and hang out frequently. Due to our schedule we never go to see each other during school but I saw Harry very often, in fact he was mr.social and very well known around the school. He was labeled as untouchable though, he had never dated one person from there as I have heard. Something about him seemed intriguing like he was a mystery but wrapped like a present. I began to pull away from Jake and focus on Harry. Harry hated Jake with a deep passion once Jake confessed that he liked me. After declaring my love for Harry, Jake didn't show up anymore, I was the last to find out he transferred to the high school in a neighboring town.
Only recently have I caught up with Jake. It was an utter surprise to see him back. He told me he planned on traveling and coming here was a quick decision but he needed to see Niall. He, harry and the rest of One Direction are the only ones to know about me. I haven't met any of the members of One Direction besides Niall, we met secretly when he found me in a cafe and somehow recognized me but all the other members know my name and my story but not my face.
I laid out the dress Hadley made me buy yesterday. It looks beautiful and a bit sexy even, my eyes travel to the pair of jeans hanging on the door of my closet.
"Don't even think about it." Hadley walks into the room and throws my jeans somewhere in the dark abyss known as my closet.
I sigh as I lug the dress and skin colored tights inside the bathroom with me. After putting on the dress I allow myself to a look in the mirror. The dress looks flattering on my tan skin and the tights fit surprisingly well with my outfit. Hadleys impeccable taste had once again saved me from a outfit crisis.
I tried to make a straight an even line with my eyeliner but my shaky hand wasnt working in my favor. After five tries and ten makeup wipes I chucked my eyeliner at the mirror and settled with touch up with my concealer and a wipe of mascara.
"Wow Hanna you look hot." Hadley exclaims as I step out of the bathroom. I bite my lips as I stare at my complexion through the mirror in my bedroom.
"I don't know it looks a bit revealing." This would of been my go-to party dress but now I'm not so sure.
"So what, it's not bad to show a bit of skin." Hadley too has changed into a simple red dress that cut off about two inches above her waist. Even if it was a bit revealing she definitely pulled it off. Her makeup was done flawlessly and I was jealous of her natural beauty. Her dark hair was much more appealing then my blonde hair. She had beauty and knew what to do with it. She seemed like a perfect person too, funny, approachable and all the boys swooned over her. I didn't understand when she said that I stole all the the boys away for her.
"You look great Hadley." I stare I awe.
Hadley winks. "Take a picture it lasts longer."
I laugh at her and throw a pillow. I take one last glance at the mirror to make sure that my appearance isn't too bad.
Throughout the whole car ride my heart is thumping loudly. My hands are a bit tense as I await my doom. I suddenly wished I hadn't gone, what good is getting drunk when the possibity that running into Harry still looms over me? I look outside and remember why I loved the city, the one thing that appealed to me was that it was so easy to be forgotten and lost in the throng of people. It was like the city was forgiving and easily let me let go of my chaotic past.
When the tall breathtaking house comes into view my breath hitches. After pressing a button and being let in by a guard we park the car and walk to the door. I try to listen to the click of my heels rather then my beating heart.
I pull open the front door to reveal a monstrous crowd and my ears were filled with the sound of trap music. The smell of alcohol invaded my nose and the sight of people dancing freely captivated my eyes.
The room itself was astounding. A crystal chandelier dangled above the crowd at the center of the room. Two large staircases cascaded on both sides of the room creating a triangle shaped area in between them. In that area was a platform made purely out of marble. On top stood the king himself, his green eyes shinning and his curly brown hair pulled back to perfection. His jawline was prominently displayed which made every maiden vie for a glance from the royal highness himself. He looked utterly bored as his kingdom revealed themselves to him. The sight of him made my heart flutter and my mouth dry. But what really drained the life out of me was the girl who was stuck to his side. And how she looked a lot like myself.
