It had been a Sunday then, and now it was Wednesday. Alex had noticed the two girls were laughing a lot and just randomly staring at each other recently. He thought about asking, but he decided it was a girl thing. Or, just something they'd talked about. Damn it, he thought, what am I doing? Alex couldn't stop obsessing over it. The girls had been doing this a LOT. "Bro, what are you doing?" Lily interrupted his thoughts. She saw he was popping his knuckles and fingers. He does that when he gets mad or frustrated. "Thinking about things." Alex said. Liese nudged Lily and Lily whispered "I will!" Alex closed his eyes and leaned back, not wanting to get any more frustrated. He just wanted to get out of school and go home.... no, to Ben's. He wanted to go to Ben's and talk to Karl because Karl made him laugh and said stupid things he could tell the girls. And his thoughts go back to the girls. Alex opened his eyes and saw Lily staring at him. Smirking, he asked "What?" "You look sexy when you lean back," Lily joked. All three of them laughed, and Lily looked at Alex and said "I need to talk to you after school. You got time?"

"Yeah... What do you need to talk about?"

"You'll see."

"But I want to know. What if I was secretly blind, you Jew?!"

"Well you aren't, and I'm not a Jew. Liese is." Just realizing they were conversing, Liese chimed in "Nuh uh, I'm catholic." and Alex and Lily laughed. "We were joking around kiddo." Lily said. Liese looked down and replied "You know I don't like it when you call me that."

"Sorry, it's a habit. Alex, where do you want to talk? We could walk around, or stay here after school, or go to Ben's. Whatever you'd like."

"Uh, let's walk." Alex said, regretting wanting to go to Ben's for some reason. Lily looked at Liese and said "I'd invite you with us, but you're going to the mall." She emphasized 'mall,' because Lily planned on telling Alex how she felt today, which meant Liese had to go to Zumies and talk to Oz. Liese groaned and the bell rang. It was time for their last period, in which technically none of them had together. Liese stayed outside, Alex was in his study hall, and Lily was in the chemistry lab. In all reality, the last hour was a free period because the staff felt like they needed to see who was devoted to their work, and who wasn't or something like that. The only reason Liese was outside, was because she had gotten everything from the past two weeks finished the night before, and the stuff from today she got done in class. She couldn't go into any other classes without any work, so she was hanging out in front of the gym with some of the more popular kids. "Hey Annaliese." That was the voice of Rick, the running back on the football team. Liese turned around and said "Hey, what's up?" She stared at his beautiful face. Not only was he the most popular guy, he was the most attractive in school. Rick smiled and replied "Not much. Do you have any plans after school? I'm going to Ben's with Junior and Brett." AKA the quarterback and the front lineman. Liese thought about Oz, and told Rick she did have plans. These guys may be hot, but they're all douchebags. Oz is sweet, and he is just jaw-dropping. Rick said "Alright, maybe some other time?" "Definitely," Liese replied. They smiled at each other, and Rick walked away.

Seventh hour slowly passed by for Lily, mostly because she spent most of her time trying to focus on what she was doing, but she kept swinging from that to 'how am I going to tell Alex?' The thought of it just made her feel sick. Not in a bad way, though. If that makes any sense. Lily sighed and finished her project. She had finished ten minutes before the bell rang, signaling the school day was over. Mr. Bruner, the chemistry teacher, saw she had finished and let her out early. On her way to her locker, one of the 'preps' purposely ran into her and said "Oops," while laughing. As Lily picked up the book that had been knocked out of her hands, she heard the girl say "Disgusting goth." but just ignored it. She still needed to figure out how to start the conversation with Alex. Lily grabbed her side-bag from her locker and slammed it shut. She thought about going outside, but decided to wait on Alex at his locker. She sat down and finally decided what to say. The bell rang, and Alex soon appeared in front of her. Helping her up, he reached for his lock and put in the code. Lily watched carefully; she thought it would be useful. 16-26-12. Okay, easy enough. Alex dropped his books in his locker and turned around. Lily nodded, signaling Alex to walk ahead of her. She grabbed onto his red jacket and let him lead her through the crowds of people. They came across Liese outside, and Lily whispered "Good luck!" into her ear. Liese smiled, and glanced at Alex, then back to Lily. "Same." Liese said. As Lily and Alex walked away, Liese looked toward the direction of the mall. 'This is gonna be just great...' Liese thought to herself and groaned in annoyance.
