Ch. Five - Be There For Us

When Annaliese reached her mothers bedroom, what she saw made her heart sink. She sat down next to her mother, who was on the ground, crying. Everything around them was sprawled around on the floor, and broken, just as her mother seemed to be. Liese embraced her mother, rocking her like a newborn baby. "I know mom, I know... It's alright, we have each other..." Liese was trying to make her mother alright. "He called me Annaliese, he called... He found us..."

Liese nodded her head and continued to comfort her mother. "Oh, my baby girl. What are we going to do?" Liese was beginning to think she was going to have to talk to him. The man who left them for dead so many years ago. The man who burdened her mother for oh so long. The man who Liese despised since the day she knew he existed.

Her father.

"What did he say, mom?"

"Well, he said he wanted to talk. I told him I had nothing to say, and he... blew up on me. Said he would hunt us down. He's so close baby girl."

"How did he get our address? How does he know where we live?"

"I don't know... I don't know..."

"Someone must have told him. He couldn't have found out on his own."

"Internet, I suppose... Anyone can find the person they are looking for on the Internet."

There was a knock at the door. Liese told her mother to hide in the closet. She rushed downstairs and waited at the door. There was another three knocks. She carefully opened the door and sighed in relief as Oz stood in front of her. She yelled up the stairs to her mother, "Its okay mom, just a friend of mine."

"Ouch, friend." Oz laughed as Liese giggled. She held up a distracted finger and went up to check on her mother. Her mother was in the bathroom, refreshing herself. Annaliese knocked on the door. "Mom? Are you okay?" She asked, knocking again. "Yes. I'm just refreshing dear." Liese smiled and turned around. She suddenly stopped when she realized there was a boy downstairs. A cute boy. A nice cute boy. And her mother would be meeting him. Liese suddenly stopped and stared wide-eyed at nothing. Wait, how does Oz know where I live?

Lily pulled away from Alex's comforting hug, regretting the movement away from his body. She suddenly felt the urge to hug him again, but wasn't sure if she should. She searched for her phone and almost screamed when she didn't find it. Lily looked up and saw Alex smirking and holding her phone in front of her face. She grabbed for it and he held it above his head.

"Alex this isn't fair!" Lily whined. "It's fair if you're tall." Lily glared. "No. That's just messed up." Alex shook his head and Lily stood up, starting to walk away. Alex walked after her. "Wait! Lily come back. I'm sorry!" Lily continued to walk away. She smirked to herself when she heard him picking up his speed. Her smirk  spread into a smile as she began to run. Alex groaned and chased after her.

~~Flashback to before the hug~~

"You called me extremely hot." Alex gawked. Lily sat there wide-eyed. She didn't know what to say. Her eyes began to water because she had no clue what to do. He obviously doesn't like her, what was she thinking? Alex could have anyone he wants, she thought. Why would he choose me? "Uh, earth to Lily." Alex said as he waved a hand in front of her face. She looked down, embarrassed. "Sorry about this..." Lily said.

"It's all good."

"No, I mean, all this... I'm sorry I told you that, I hope I didn't ruin anything between us -- I don't want you to change the way you are around me or anything I just.... Sorry."

"Lily, it's okay. Seriously."

"I uh, I mean, it wasn't easy for me to tell you that. I'm really nervous about all of it."

"Don't be."

"What reason do I have not to?"

"Well for starters, I like you too. A lot." Alex said with a shy look on his face. Lily blinked about ten times before asking "What?" He laughed a little and asked "Seriously? You're surprised? Honestly, I thought you knew." She shook her head and her phone buzzed. Alex sighed and said, "So are we good now? Got everything off our chests?" Lily nodded and they both stood up to embrace each other in a warm, long hug.

~~Flashback over~~

"Catch me if y--" Lily was cut off by Alex tackling her to the ground. "Caught you." Alex whispered. Lily shuddered with delight at the sound of his sensuality. They were facing each other on the ground, Lily being trapped by his body. He saw her noticeable shudder, and decided to tease her a little. He began by breathing up and down her neck, starting at the collar bone. When he got back to the neck of her shirt, he started kissing her neck, lightly, all the way up to her ear and when he got there, he breathed again, a little heavier than before. Lily had totally forgotten about her phone. She was biting her lip and tugging at the hem of Alex's shirt, drawing him closer.

When he stopped teasing her, he kissed her cheek and laid down beside Lily, grabbed her hand, and pulled her phone out of his jacket to give to her. She grabbed her phone with her free hand, and then squeezed Alex's hand when she realized they were intertwined. "I love you." Lily looked at Alex when she heard his voice, although she wasn't exactly listening. She was engulfed in happiness and was in a day dream of sorts. "Hm?" She asked. "I love you so much Lily. You're really beautiful, you know that?" She ignored the question and replied "I love you too."
"Lilian look at me."
She looked at him.
"You are absolutely beautiful, Lily."
She smiled.
"Don't let anyone influence you into thinking you're not. You're an amazing, brilliant girl, and anyone who thinks or says any different, is a little ignorant, idiotic, jellyfish-y dickfaced asshole." Lily giggled and pulled their hands to her face and kissed his hand. "I meant it, you know. When I said I love you too." Lily said, after a few moments of silence. He smiled at her and replied with a simple "Me too." Lily looked at her phone. There was a text from Liese.

A - Mission completed, how you holding up?

Lily chuckled slightly, and replied "Dandy. :) I'll fill you in tomorrow after you give me the detes. about Oz!!"

Alex assumed she was texting Liese. After Lily put her phone up, Alex stood and brought her with him. Lily wiped the grass off her butt, and looked up to see Alex staring at her. "What?" She asked, smiling. "Lilian, will you be my girlfriend?" Lily stood there for about two seconds before kissing his cheek and saying "Absolutely." with a bright smile.
