Happy Birthday

      Bruno was the first to get up. He thought of all the memories that happened the past year. It was hectic & he thought that it was all a dream. He looked around & checked his surroundings, before grinning ear to ear. It was all real, & he was grateful for it.

     Bruno quickly got up & rushed towards the nursery with a guitar in his hands. The quicker he ran, he realized that he probably wasn't gonna be first. He didn't mind of course but he still wanted to be in the top 5. He soon was at Mirabel's door as he knew that Camilo would be sleeping in there for the week. He than gently knocked on the door.

Mirabel opened the door in excitement. "Hola papi!" She said in a jovial tone.

"Hola mi nina, feliz decimosexto cumpleaños!"

(Translation: Hello my girl, happy 16th birthday!)

"Thank you." Mirabel said with a smile.

"Don't forget about me!" Camilo huffs dramatically.

Bruno let out a light chuckle. "I could never forget about you. Happy birthday son."

Camilo grins before hugging him with his sister. "Thanks."

"You're welcome."

"Is that an ukelele?" Mirabel asked.

"Yes, I was actually making a song for you & since I'm now able to talk to you guys, I figured it would be a great time to sing it." Bruno said awkwardly.

     The twins brought their father to bed. It was clear that they wanted to hear the song. Bruno smiled at their exhilaration. He than held his ukelele with care as it had been a gift from Luz. The twins leaned against each side of his shoulders as he began to sing with his wife in spirit.

Look at you grown, you're both amazing!
I hope you know, we love you both so . . .

And I can see all the different "what ifs & maybes," in every one you both shine.

     The children hugged their father with tears in their eyes. Bruno immediately hugged back as they felt another pair of unseen arms wrapped around them, causing them to smile. For the rest of the day, it was filled with happiness. It's true what people say, the family was stronger, together.
