Alice Belle Weasley

George and I went to Hogwarts together and were close friends. When we had the weekend trips to Hogsmeade, he and I were inseparable. He would buy chocolates for himself and me and I. We always bought each other gag gifts for birthdays and Christmas. His Birthday is April 1st and mine is April 15. Two weeks apart.

At the start, we were strictly friends.

We were both Gryffindor's and would sneak into each other's rooms when there were parties. That was our only time alone.

In our 5th year, he asked me out using a torn corner of parchment, though it didn't last.

When the war happened, we were torn apart. My family didn't let me leave our house which is on the outskirts of London. Both Fred and George were active in the fighting.

I wasn't with him when his world was torn apart.

That may be my biggest regret. Not being there to comfort him. Not being there to hug him while he cried. Not being there to tell him everything would be alright.

It took months before I was able to see him again. He pushed everybody away. He closed the shop for 4 months. He wasn't seen by anybody for weeks, only leaving to pick up groceries.

The only thing I heard from him within those months was a letter he wrote to me. It said that we couldn't be together anymore and I shouldn't worry about him.

We got together again about 7 months after Fred died and I moved into the flat with him. After the many months he lived alone among his brother's things, nothing looked to be touched. The door knob on Fred's door had collected a mound of dust. In the bathroom, there were two toothbrushes.

It took George about a year to fully mourn his brother. After then, he did not cry when Fred was mentioned. Instead, he thought about the memories they shared together and the happy elements of his life.

We were both 21 when he proposed. It was summertime and in the backyard of the Burrow, and George had arranged a variety of flowers on the ground. The flowers were planted in the spring in the shape of a large heart.

We were happy again. It was as though nobody near to us had died.

We got married in the Fall surrounded by our friends and families. Our friends from Hogwarts came and we talked and talked of our favorite memories. Many of the memories included George and I while we were dating. Every time we thought back to our years at Hogwarts, the other person was by our side.

On October 4th, we made our vows and promises to each other. And we meant every word. Our story has been rocky from the very beginning when we had no time to see each other alone to Fred's death. Through thick and thin, we made it through. Our relationship survived.

We have our happy ending...

But we almost didn't.
