"Library? How boring," Sarah groaned when I told her that I won't be able to go with them at the mall after class. She said a new clothing store had opened and wanted to check out the clothes there. Laura was pretty much excited for it.
Ken, on the other hand, only had no other choice but to join them. I'd invite him to go to the library with me, but he wasn't really a library-type of person. He'd only end up snoring in there.
"Milo has basketball practice. And we'd go to the movies together later. So I'm just going to wait for him," I said, flashing an apologetic look to Sarah.
Sarah crossed her arms against his chest, shaking her head in disappointment. "Ditching your friends for a boyfriend? Tsk. Bros before hoes Alex."
My cheeks flushed at the mention of the word boyfriend. Even if I wished that was true, there's no way it would be true.
Milo only notices girls who isn't me.
It's sad really. But what can I do about it?
"He's not my boyfriend," I said with a wry chuckle.
Laura also gave a reluctant chuckle. "Yeah. There's no way. They're just friends."
I gazed at Laura who also gazed back at me. We both gave each other an awkward glance, then bursted an awkward laugh.
"But even if you are--" Laura placed her hand gently on my shoulder. "--it would be fine for me. No hard feelings."
"I... no... I..." I started to stutter. My face was blushing so hard, my stomach having this weird feeling of... similar to indigestion or something.
"You know what--" Ken began to take a step next to me, digging his hand inside his pocket. "--I think I'll spend some time in the library with Alex."
Sarah's jaw dropped in surprise at what Ken announced. "You? Library? Are you serious?"
Ken shrugged with a cheeky smile.
"It's better than being stuck with girl clothes shopping. I'd rather sleep in the library."
"Fine. So shopping's cancelled. We'll all spend our time in the library," Sarah declared in defeat.
"Hey!" Laura frowned. "I'm getting the feeling that you don't want to be alone with me?"
Sarah gave her a sarcastic smile. "Ya think?"
Laura felt offended, and as a payback, she pinched Sarah's waist causing her to wince in pain.
"I'm kidding," Sarah pouted. "But it's no fun when it's just the two of us. Plus, you have no fashion sense."
Laura, offended for the second time, slapped Sarah on the back. Ken and I laughed as the two started bickering.
Just then, some eery feeling bestowed upon me. And it wasn't just me. It bestowed upon all four of us. Laura and Sarah froze. Ken also took one step back upon taking in the figure who was walking past us.
Some of the people in the corridor also took steps back, some turning around as if a really bad presence was making it's way through the corridor.
It was him.
Spencer Gallner.
It has been three days since he transferred to our school, and within that three days, he has already proven himself to be that usual punk boy I see in movies or read in novels.
I stared at him, studying his appearance from head to toe. He didn't look at anyone. He was looking straight. No emotions plastered on his face.
He wore a black shirt with a white skull imprinted in the front, sleeves have been ripped. His pants were also ripped in the knees part. His shoes were black high-cut vans with white heels, I noticed.
