School shooter

"What's going on!?" Anna's voice was laced with panic as they ran to the nearest shelter the group could find. They had been ushered to hide in the nearest classroom by the principal during volleyball practice, the five of them hadn't expected for Mr.Smith to barge through the door like he missed payday. The fire alarm went off, the only warning they had for the students because the school shooter had hijacked the others. "I don't know, don't ask me!"

Rebeka ran as fast as her feet could go, she hadn't been paying much attention to the conversation behind her but she had caught that one question Anna had. "Are you guys stupid!?! The principal literally said a school shooter had been spotted outside the school! Were you not listening at all!?!" Jesica had butted in during the group's rushed discussion. "Well sorry I'm only focusing on one thing right now!" Anna retorted with a hiss as they kept navigating the halls.

Josselin had started to go into a panic attack, silently crying as they kept running, causing the group's attention to shift to her. "It's not the time to panic, Josselin! We have to keep moving forward and keep your voice down! He might hear us!" Raegan suddenly spoke after being silent for so long. "She's right Josselin keep your voice down or we might be next!" Jesica had whispered.

"Yeah bu-" Josselin's sentence had been interrupted midway by the shout of Anna. "Look! Over there!" All four had looked at the direction Anna pointed to, there was a science lab in front of them. None of them dared to make a sound at this point as they hurriedly entered the room and locked the door behind them.

They had studied drills for when school shootings happen but decided to not practice them at the moment because it was actually pretty useless when it came to the real life thing.

So they all ducked under things as if there was an earthquake, it was completely pitch black in the room and all that could be seen was the light shining under the door. Josselin was about to say something until a loud gunshot noise was heard throughout the school, everyone in the lab jumped. Raegan was the first to speak, "don't say a word. We don't need him discovering us." her voice was stern and calm, as if she's been through this before. All of them are shook from the recent sound that emitted through the halls that had been followed by a scream. But none of them went against Raegan's orders, even if she hadn't said them, they still would've never opened their mouths, being too scared too.

Everyone remained silent, the only thing that could be heard was they're ragged breathing from their anxiety. Nothing else could be heard after that, until the faint sound of footsteps from afar became audible. "Oh no we are gonna die!" Josselin's panic attack had peaked at its highest as she started to hyperventilate and pace around the room for an exit.

Even though she knows it's hopeless too.

Anna, Jesica, and Rebeka were at a loss of words at this point, they couldn't tell Josselin any comforting words themselves because they had also thought they were gonna die. All three of them looked at Josselin's pacing around and back at each other, they're faces pale, and lost all their color (is white a color idk?). None of them knew whether to cry, just admit defeat, or both. Josselin threw a stool at the foolproof window as hard as she could, only for it to bounce back and made a loud noise as it hit the floor...

That's when the footsteps suddenly stopped in its tracks and aimed straight for the science lab...

"I hear you~" A masculine voice echoed through the halls as he makes his steady approach.

"Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!!! We're screwed!!!" Anna had finally let go and started pacing around with Joselin as well. Rebeka immediately started crying and full blown sobbing, Jesica looked at Raegan. As if expecting an answer from her to solve everything.
