Chapter 7: Test before the Grand Prix

Still Kuroko's POV

" I'm kind of nervous..." I thought.

As it was about to start...

"Settle down everyone, please gather in the center... we will hold a meeting for the 47th St. Marie Academy Cake Grand Prix. I'd just like to say that as always, I'd like to think of it as a chance to freely display a patissier's skills. " The principal said.

"I'm delighted that there are so many people participating this year. However, in order to limit the number of people, we'll be performing a small test right here." He added.

" Test? I didn't hear anything about this" The other participants said in shock.

" Everyone, please take a look at the box over there," The principal said while showing us the boxers next to him.

After we saw the boxers, we were in surprise...

" Inside is the theme of the first round including 4 ingredients for pound cake. Several kinds have been prepared. One person will enter, and you'll have to fill in the blanks with the alphabet letters of the ingredients you think were used in the making." the person next to the boxers explained.

"You cannot break the egg use some other method. It is okay to touch it. That's fine and all but if you get one question wrong, you're out! If one person is wrong, the whole team fails. Now let's start" He added.

" No way... I clearly thought a team needed 4 people to compete" I thought.

" You will have 3 minutes total for the entire test. When you hand in the filled-out blank form go to where you're instructed. There's a surveillance camera in the box, dishonesty will result in an instant fail." he added again.

Everyone get their turns, as it was my turn...

"Number #24 Kuroko, enter the door on the left," They said, I nod and went into the room.

" It's here... I can't fail here" I thought.

" Pond cake is made with sugar, butter, eggs, and flour... This is butter, they're 3 types. Pound cake uses unsalted butter" I thought again.

While I try 3 types of butter, I found out that A is salted butter, B is unsalted butter and C is also unsalted but C has this delicious flavor and depth... It is certainly Fermented butter.

I wrote for butter C.

Next is sugar, A is granulated sugar and B is fine and moist Jouhakutou... 

I wrote for sugar A.

Next are the eggs, the freshest egg should be used. To find out without breaking them, the freshet egg would sink to the bottom and lie on their sides...I learned this during science class.

I happily wrote for eggs A.

The last one is flour, they're just like the sugar, they're no difference in appearance, the taste is the same. I pour water at the 3 sets. A is elasticity, B is so-so and C is the softest and it's hard to set.

I wrote for Flour C.

I quickly came out after that. I gave the person my answer paper. The person told me to go to the door on the right. I nervously went in...

" Did I pass?" I thought while going inside the door.

Vorpal Sword's POV

Today, Tetsumi didn't go to school at all. We've been informed that Kuroko has transferred to another school. We were happy at first but she haunt us for over this past month.

" Where could Kurokochii be?" Kise said.

" Tetsumi-Chan has been rather a distance than ever," Momoi said

We were afraid that something would have happened to her.
