Floof and a pinch of angst
-
The small sunlight that glistened through the window brought in a dim orange tint around the room. Zhongli, who had been awake for about an hour now and had already changed into his usual overly detailed cockroach colour schemed clothes, was once again watching the beauty of the male that was still asleep on the bed. Zhongli had woken up the previous night after sleeping with the harbinger on the couch for a few hours, he carried Tartaglia up to the bedroom so that they could sleep better as the couch wasn't exactly the best place to sleep for the rest of the night, especially since there was a thunderstorm happening outside and the younger male's immune system is never at it's best shape when he is injuried badly.

The sunlight that was shining on the milky white skin of the harbinger just made him look even more stunning but what made the whole thing so beautiful and adorable at the same time was that, Tartaglia was curled up into a small ball laying on his side, with his tongue tip slightly sticking out. To Zhongli, he looked like a small fox, that was when he realised it was time to wake the harbinger up, he needed to change the bandages around his torso. That was when this weird idea came into the archon's head, he lightly pulled on the tongue that stuck out of the other's mouth which earns a small whine before Tartaglia, shot up awake and glaring at the consultant, with his tongue still out. Zhongli laughed quietly, looking away from the ginger. "What was that for Xiansheng...." oh no not that tone, "Your so mean to me....." the tone of a trap, even if you know it's a trap you will still get stuck. Zhongli turns over to see the male on the bed cross legged with tears running down his face. Oh no, it's happening, stage one of the trap. He knew it was a trap but he knew he would still end up caught in it, sighing he sat down next to the crying ginger, "I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to be mean to you, okay?" Zhongli says tilting the harbinger's head to face him, oh how his dull blue eyes looked with tears, it was ever so beautiful, "You owe me a sparring!" Zhongli shook his head, "Your injuried and even if you get better and we spar, you would get injuried again, and I don't want that happening again. Okay?" The harbinger whined, "I want a sparring with YOU! Not Morax or Rex Lapis or whatever other names you have! I want to spar with Zhongli, consultant of the Funeral Parlor!" Amber eyes looking right into the dull blue ones, all he saw was truth and determination to fight his mortal personality. "Still a no, I'm still stronger than an average mortal even against a very strong mortal I am stronger, I would still hurt you. Humans, are fragile, and I don't want to hurt you" Tartaglia pouted, the consultant knew that the younger would try again for the request and keep pushing it so he was trying to think of something to make it up to him- "You harmed me, with the intentions to kill......Zhongli" Zhongli looked at the harbinger again, so fast any normal human would have broken their neck. "Pardon?...." The statement caught him off guard, his calm and collective demeanor was broken. "During the sparring, you fought me with the intentions to kill, I said I wouldn't hold back on you, but I never fought with the intentions to kill....But you did" Zhongli looked at the dull blue eyes that still had tears, "I- I apologise sincerely, Tartaglia, I didn't keep in check of my actions- To make it up to you- uh- I'll do you a request, just- I don't want to hurt you again-" "Then give me a spar with Zhongli and not Morax" Zhongli looked at the harbinger, he had a smug smile across his face, tears gone. "I should have known...." Zhongli said disappointed in himself "You fell for it, again!" The ginger sat on his knees, kneeling, "But you lasted longer than normal, I had to do guilt trip just to make you crack, usually just crying worked" he pouted again. Turns out all that crying was just an act, the ginger has never truly cried infront of anyone.

"Fine, then as what you said, I will have a sparring with you as Zhongli, BUT only after you are well and able to fight properly again. Got it?" Childe nodded, "Now let's change those bandages around your torso, you might bleed out again since it difficult to keep you in one place." Zhongli went closer to the redhead and pulled off the shirt carefully so that he wouldn't hit the wounds. His skin was covered in battle scars old and new, but something caught his eyes again, while the consultant was cleaning and dressing the wound on Tartaglia the other evening, he had noticed some scars that was on his upper parts of his arms, at that time he thought maybe he is dreaming or something because he was also tired, but now he was wide awake and the marks are still there on both sides of his arm, what made them more unusual was that the scars were in straight horizontal lines one under another, 4 on the right and 6 on the left. Zhongli kept glancing at the marks the entire time while he was changing the bandages on the younger male's torso, "Xiansheng? You keep looking at the upper half of me while changing my bandages, see something you like hm?"

Tartaglia flirted, it was a normal occurrence, but the look on Zhongli's face didn't seem like he liked the joke. "Tartaglia, your arms have scars that don't seem like you got them from any of our spars, it doesn't look like any enemies could have done this either." That was when Childe tensed up, pulling away from the consultant, "Tartaglia?" Zhongli looks at the younger male, unlike himself, the other could easily lose his composure and his intentions or feelings would be on full display. "Ah....hehe, it's nothing....it is just a....um, traditional thing in
Snezhnaya, ah.... it's to......show.... loyalty, yeah" Zhongli didn't believe a single word, he pushed Tartaglia onto the bed, not rough enough to hurt him, but enough to throw him off, he pinned the male under him, to ensure that he couldn't just move away and avoid the question, "What really are those marks?" The consultant's voice stern. The other, looked terrified, Childe kept turning his head away trying to avoid eye contact with the male on top of him but to no avail, Zhongli would aways turn his head to face him again. Childe couldn't take all the pressure, he squeezed his eyes shut, tears threatening to fall, "Tartaglia, What are those marks?!" Zhongli was starting to loose his temper, he had more patience than this, but the situation is making it difficult for him to keep his temper, the ginger wouldn't say a thing and it was a serious matter. "Who did those mark?!" Zhongli almost tried to slap Childe, but before he could even move his hand he realised what he was doing. He was scaring him, the harbinger wouldn't say a thing if he felt threatened or fear, he looked at the male under him, he could see the small tears in the corners of his eyes, he knew he had messed up.

"Childe..... I'm sorry, I.... didn't mean to scare you or hurt you" Zhongli pulled Childe to sit up and hugged him, thrown off but appreciative of the hug, Childe hugged back into the warmth, nuzzling into the consultant's neck. "It's okay..." Childe finally says, muffled, from his face in the others neck. "I....I will tell you about the marks.......but, I'm not ready, I really want to, but I don't feel ready to tell anyone" Zhongli nodded, "I understand, I'm sorry for trying to force it out of you" Childe hummed in answer. "I'm really sorry" Zhongli apologies again, but this time there was no answer or movements from the other, he had fallen asleep, even though he just woke up a few minutes ago.

"Zhongli...Xiansheng"
"Did you rest well? I had let you sleep another 2 hours, here is some bamboo shoot soup(is that what it's called????) you must be hungry" Zhongli places a bowl infront of Childe.

The entire time they ate, Childe couldn't help but be flustered every time Zhongli looked at him.
