Chapter one~ star-filled night

Beidou's crew, the crux has finally returned to Liyue after many weeks of sailing . Soon after Liyue harbour went from a quiet place to one where everyone was having fun seeing their loved ones return.

Everyone except Beidou... After everyone had gone home or for drinks Beidou quietly went to her cabin feeling down as usual when nobody was around. Feeling like shit, she fell asleep. Strangely she was woken by the sound of knocking on her door. It was Huixing and Juza asking if she was down to go and get some beer but she politely declined.

Although getting beer with friends didn't sound half bad, Beidou wasn't in the mood for it. She tried to fall asleep again but couldn't so she decided to go on a walk around the harbour. It was about 2am by that point so she didn't expect anyone to be there except drunkards and guards. To her surprise that wasn't the case today. She walked for a while and decided to go to her favourite cliff, you can see the whole of Liyue harbour from there. Luckily it wasn't far .As she climbed up there and admired the view she noticed a woman with silky white hair sitting on the edge of the cliff.

She went closer to the edge. "Hey Ningguang didn't thought I'd se you here" she said. Beidou and Ningguang have only met in a very professional setting so it felt weird meeting her so casually. "Oh it's you Beidou" Ningguang responded after turning around. Ningguang made a gesture for Beidou to sit next to her. "I really didn't think I'd meet you here" Beidou remarked. Ningguang nodded and said "same goes for you".

After that both of the women sat in silence admiring the view for a few more minutes before Beidou asked what Ningguang was doing there anyway. Ningguang paused for a second, still processing, and then answered "I needed to clear my mind a little, work has been rough  these past months but I'm more curious about you? Don't you have your crew to be with?". Beidou paused, this was not what she expexted to hear from the tianquan "I rejected a their offer to go out for drinks—" Ningguang interrupted her with a "didn't think that was an option for you" to which beidou just blanky stared at her for a few seconds and then continued. "- and I couldn't sleep so Idecided to take a walk and ended up here" Beidou said and smiled awkwardly . They talked for a while and seemed to totally forgot about time...

The two women suddenly became friends in one night. A connection which was stronger either of them realised. Just as they were chatting about the jade chamber, Beidou saw a shooting star in the corner of eye and swiftly pointed it out so Ningguang could see it too. They both decided to make a wish. When Ningguang finished making hers she moved her hand a little and accidentally touched Beidou's hand. Ningguang almost jumped when she touched it because she got scared which made Beidou giggle thus making Ningguang a little embarrassed.

Beidou's wish was to finally be truly happy again. Ningguang's wish was the same thing Beidou wished for. Unknowingly they both wished for each other.

After few more minutes of chatting they went back to Liyue harbour stopping at the wanmin restaurant for a very late night or technically very early morning snack. Unfortunately considering the time Xianling was asleep so Beidou couldn't say hi to her but promised chef Mao she'd stop by tomorrow.

Beidou basically escorted Ningguang to the jade chamber "elevator". As they were saying their goodbyes Ningguang asked "Do you wanna repeat this some next time?". Beidou of course said yes and hugged her dear friend for the last time.  "Good night Ningguang" Beidou said. "Good night to you too Beidou sleep well" Ningguang responded and waved to her
as she was ascencing.

After that Beidou headed straight to bubu pharmacy to get some meds to help her sleep better. She was still thinking about the wish she made. Maybe the star was a sign that things are going to get better.

Baizhu wasn't behind the counter. For a split second Beidou though no one was there but realised it just was Qiqi behind the counter. "24hour service my ass, more like 24hour zombie child exploitation" se mumbled to herself and thought"Someone get this child to bed". Beidou asked Qiqi if she could talk to mister Bahizu about her sleeping medication. She said he was in the back but she could make Beidou her sleeping herb mix. The captain agreed and the child started to mix a few things up looking into a book bigger than her head before adding each one.

When she got her meds she payed and headed over to her ship. When she finally began to fall asleep she couldn't help but think about Ningguang. There was something special about this encounter of theirs.

This is the first newly edited chapter (2023) and it's okay ig but I have enterance exams next Thursday and Friday so I rlly need to study (pray for me)  and I have comic con on Sunday so I'm not sure when I'll have the time to edit the rest but love you guys!
