Chapter four~ chess?

Upon waking up and checking her schedule Ningguang realised it was going to be another day of working a little too much and girlbossing a little too close to the sun . After a few minutes of going through some papers she stumbled upon one with Beidou's name and put it aside to work on later.

Beidou also had some business that day. She made a deal with a few fishermen and sailors. Which both ended up exactly like the captain had expected. The captaid also had to run some earrands in Liyue harbour so she ended up meeting Mr. Zhongli again which was quite awkward considering what happened yesterday. She also ran into Ganyu who was carrying some documents that looked quite heavy so she offered to help her. Ganyu accepted the favour and they headed to the jade chamber which was where ganyu was heading in the first place.

When they arrived there they went to put the papers in Ningguang's office. After they laid them in there Ningguang requested for Ganyu to leave them for a few minutes which she of course did because not listening to the boss was out of the question. When ganyu walked out of the room and closed the door Ningguang made a gesture for Beidou to sit down.

"Beidou you need to pay your taxes" Ningguang said in a much kinder tone than Beidou expected. "uhh how much will that be"the other woman responded. Ningguang looked into the paper for a while. "should be about 300k mora if i'm counting this right." "You should have started with that" Beidou said immediately and pulled out a bag with mora in it. She counted for a while and then handed over the money "sorry i didn't pay them its not like i didn't want to i just forgot." Beidou said and smiled awkwardly. "Ningguang was taken by surprise a little. She chuckled and took the money.

"well since that is taken care of, do you like to play chess Ning?" Beidou said and smiled. Ningguang once again taken by surprise answered "well yes i do but i'm afraid i don't quite have time for this right now". Beidou paused for a while "good to know... what about tomorrow ,come to the docks whenever you feel like it" Beidou said and walked out of the door. The Tianquan was once again taken by surprise and blushed a little so when Ganyu walked back in it felt a little awkward for both of them.

The next day Ningguang's schedule was absolutely over the top except for a lunch break she basically had work the entire day or so she thought. "someone" took care of work that she was supposed to do about an hour and a half before her lunch break. That left Ningguang in shock but then she remmembered what Beidou said yesterday "come to the docks whenever you feel like it" After that ningguang did the rest of her work for this morning. When she was done with all of it she headed to the docks just as beidou said. As she was about to exit the jade chamber she heard a voice calling her. It was Keqing she was there to ask Ningguang if she wanted to go out to lunch with her and Ganyu. Ningguang considered it for a second but in the end politely declined saying she already has plans.

When Ningguang got to the docks not even five minutes later Beidou showed up with a smile brighter than ever "hey Ning didn't actually expect to see you here so you wanna go get some lunch when we're here". Ningguang accepted the offer so they headed to the Wanmin restaurant. "Hello miss Ningguang and Beidou" Xianling said while carrying someone's orders. "You don't have to be so formal dear" Ningguang responded with a smile. 

They ordered some tianshu meat and jade parcels both to go. Turns out the people who's order Xianling was carrying when greeting them was Keqing's and Ganyu's. So when they were walking away Keqing threw a death stare at Beidou again like last time.

The two women were heading to Beidou's ship."so ehm Beidou excuse me for asking but you live on your ship?" Ningguang asked out of nowhere. "Yes that would be correct, it's not very efficient for me to rent or buy myself a house when I'm travelling so might as well live there."  Beidou responded and smiled awkwardly.

When they got there Beidou offered Ningguag to sit at the table and pulled out a fancy chess board which she got in Sumeru."i didn't expect you to have such a fancy chess board Beidou" Ningguang said looking a little surprised. Beidou of course unphased just grinned.

"So what's the prize of the winner?" Beidou asked smirking again. "well if you win i'll treat you to a drink and if i win you'll treat me to lunch.How about that" Ningguang respond still admiring the chess board. "Lady Ningguang you just got yourself a deal!" captain responded enthusiastically. 

After Beidou set up the chess board she offered Ningguang to take the white since it goes first. Ningguang accepted and they started playing. After a few minutes Beidou did the fatal move "checkmate" she said and and smirked.  Ningguang didn't actually think that Beidou would beat her so she was quite startled and just sat there. "so when am i getting my drink?" captain asked in a very cheerfull tone. "alright" Ningguang said and pulled out a bag with some mora "there you satisfied?" Ning asked a bit annoyed. "why so salty we can do a rematch or something if you really want to?" the other woman responded immediately. Ningguang now in a slightly better mood since there is still a chance of beating Beidou at chess.The next game Beidou won again so Ning demanded another match. This time Beidou let Ningguang win so she doesen't feel bad about loosing  too many times.

"Are you being easy on me Beidou?" Ning asked. Beidou took a while to answer "well no... maybe... i don't know." she finally said and chuckled. Ningguang on the other hand didn't find this funny.

" Alright lets head to the Wanmin Restaurant for your promised drink" Ningguang said once again annoyed. Of course Beidou found it funny when Ningguang was annoyed but considering she kinda wanted the drink she said nothing.

After Beidou got her drink it was about time Ninguang returned to her office. When she got there she thought about their lunch and she could't resist giggling at the Beidou tried to let Ningguang win. Just thinking about her made her feeling something. Such a fuzzy warm feeling...

SORRY FOR TAKING SO LONG I STARTED WRITING THIS WHEN I HAD COVID AND A LOT OF TIME FOR WRINTING AND THEN GOT BACK TO SCHOOL SO I DIDNT HAVE MUCH TIME. ANYWAYS I HAVE COVID AGAIN... PROB OMICRON.

ALSO THIS IS A LONGER CHAPTER.
