The girl could not believe her luck.
She felt that it must be fate.
One happy coincidence led to another — it all happened so fast, a rush of emotions, a click of fingers — and she was whisked away into another's world.
No longer his.

The girl smiled wider now. And most times, they were real ones.
It was new to the girl — this floating sensation, an almost surreal feeling. She had never known love like this, had never been adored before. Had never known what sincerity tasted like.
The stars aligned perfectly, the birds chirped louder, the conversations were funnier, the handholding was better — what then, was the girl missing?
Why, then, as she went to bed every night, she could not fall asleep?
Why did she keep turning over and over, trying to piece together the broken pieces, yet never feeling whole — why still, did she feel such a hollowness, such an ache?
