Emily's pov:
I moved to grab JJ's hand. "Come on you should get back to bed. We can watch a movie or something." I say helping her stand up. We walk upstairs together and JJ sits down on the bed, tired from just climbing up a few steps.

She was still in her work clothes. "Wanna change into something more comfortable?" I ask her. She nods. "Okay what do you want to wear?" I say looking in her closet. "Um anything's fine." She says.

I picked out a T-shirt and some sweats. I hand them too her, and I'm about to walk out of the room so she can change. Then she says "Emily can you help me?" I immediately feel my face turning red. I'm convinced she's torturing me on purpose at this point. But, I can't really say no.

"Yeah sure." I say sitting behind her. I pull off her work blouse as quickly as I can. I unhook her bra tossing the clothes on the floor. I try to advert my gaze anywhere else. I pull the T-shirt over her head and she unbuttons her jeans pulling them off. I help her step into the sweatpants and pull them up.

I have to look away from her for a few seconds to get my face back to normal. I finally turn around to face her. She's wrapped around in a blanket flipping through tv channels. Finally she lands on this cooking show and sets the remote down.

I stare at her for a few second. She's shivering. "I'm cold." She says looking up at me. "Yeah that's because you have a raging fever." I say with a small laugh. She just rolls her eyes at me.

"You can't have another blanket it'll make your fever higher." I say sitting on the edge of the bed and stroking a piece of hair out of her face. She turns around and hugs herself.

"I have an idea." I say pulling back the blankets. She looks at me again. I lay down in the bed and wrap my arms around her. "Emily what are you doing you're going to get sick." JJ says quietly. "So what?" I say. Finally she just accepts it and settles into my arms.

She leans her head on my chest and relaxes into the body heat. Eventually she turns her head back to the tv and starts to pay attention to the show. Her eyes start to close and eventually she fell asleep.

JJ's pov:
I woke up and I wasn't sure how much time had passed. I shifted in bed a little bit and realized that Emily wasn't there anymore. I mean it's not like I though she would be, but the emptiness felt lonely.

It was almost like she could read my mind because she walked in less that 30 seconds later. "Hey you're awake." She smiled. She walked into the room holding a bowl of soup and set it down on the nightstand.

"So how are you feeling?" She asks me. "A little better." I say. It wasn't a lie. I actually did feel better. She looked at me as if trying to figure out if I was telling the truth or not. "I am! Really!" I say putting my hands up in defence.

"Okay okay." She says with a laugh. She walks over and sits on the edge of the bed next to me. I was still laying down under the covers because I was freezing. She leaned down and pressed her lips to my forehead. I know that she was doing it to check my temperature, but the feeling of her lips gave me butterflies and my heart sped up.

"I think you're fever went down a little." She said with a smile. "Yay." I say trying to muster as much enthusiasm as I can. She pulls out a bottle of purple cold medicine and pours it into a medicine cup.

I look at the purple syrup and just the smell makes me nauseous. "You're insane if you think I'm drinking that shit." I say with a laugh. "Okay but you'll be stuck here all week if you don't."

"Fine." I sigh as she hands me the 'grape' flavoured liquid. I hold my nose and take it like a shot nearly gagging at the taste. "In what world is that grape?" I say sticking my tongue out. "Oh don't me dramatic." She says rolling her eyes.

"Oh yeah? You want to try it?" I say handing her the bottle. "Um I think all pass." She looks at the purple concoction one last time before closing the lid and putting it away.

~2 days later~
I was back at work and was much better. I know that Emily was just staying with me to be a good friend, but a little part of me was wondering if she thought it was anything more.

It was a pretty slow day at work and no new cases. I hear a knock at my door. "Come in!" I shout spinning around in my chair. I hate slow days. But to my surprise Emily walks in and sits on my couch.

"Hey what's up?" I ask her. "Oh nothing just bored." She says laying back. "Yeah slow days are the worst." I laugh.

Most other jobs people might think slow days are great. You don't have to do anything, it just like having free time. But in the mindset of a person who catches serial killers for a living, it kinda sucks. Because while we're here sitting around doing nothing, someone could be dying or wishing that someone would come find them. Expect we just don't have that case.

But that's really all we do. Sure we save people, but does that at really make up for the people we don't? Some will say yes, and some will say no. It really just depends on your mindset.

After a few minutes I think Emily might have actually fallen asleep. I head Hotch's door open, which can only mean 2 things. Either we can go home, or we have a case. To be honest I actually hope it's the first thing.

It's quiet enough I can hear him through the walks of my office. "No case today so after you finish your paperwork you're free to go."

I look down at my watch. It's only 11:39 am. Pretty early for us to be able to go home, but I'll take it. I walk over to the couch and shake Emily awake. She groans and sits up. "Crap did I fall asleep?" She mumbles.

"Yeah. But it's fine Hotch says we're free to go since there's no case." She sits up rubbing her eyes. "Oh okay. I'll see you tomorrow I guess." She says walking out of my office and outside still half asleep.
