"What are you doing here?" Wolf looked at Alex clearly trying to intimidate the young boy in front of him. "I'm here in a school trip." Alex responded innocently. "You're still in school!" Wolf yelled forgetting there were other people in the room. Eagle and Snake just stared at Alex in shock trying to get a response out of him.
"How old are you Cub?" Fox muttered just loud enough so the unit could hear him. The four men turned to Alex waiting for an answer.
"15" Alex whispered so quietly no one could hear him. The soldier stared at the boy until he finally shouted "15!"
The men looked at each other in utter disbelief. The kid had trained with them when he was only 14!
Realising the soldiers needed more time to comprehend his answer. The fair haired boy stood up and silently exited the cabin leaning against the wooden door for a moment before making his way to the barracks where he would be staying for the remainder of the terrible school trip.
As soon as he entered the barracks he realised everyone was staring at him in confusion. Unsure what was going on, the boy made his way over to Tom who was sitting on his bunk in the far corner of the room.
"Why is everyone staring at me?" Alex asked his best friend confused. "Everyone saw the soldiers take you away and have spent the last 10 minutes speculating why they wanted talk to you and have being sharing different rumours they have heard about you." Tom looked at Alex with sympathy.
"Oh God." Alex murmured wondering what the rumours were. Breaking the deafening silence, the heavy doors slammed open revealing snake standing there with his medical kit.
"Before you can start your training, I am required to make sure you are all physically able to complete all the aspects of the training. I have been given a file on everyone and I have to look at all of your past injuries to make sure none of them will prevent you from taking part."
With that, Snake told everyone to sit on the end of their bed as he made his way down the line examining each student in great detail to make sure nothing was missed. Alex and Tom were both near the end of the line so by the time Snake reached them everyone else would have already been checked and would now be watching Snake examine them.
Tom was examined before Alex. Alex watched as Snake instructed Tom to take his shirt off so he could examine the old bullet wound he has on his arm. Alex grew paler with worry about what would happen when it was his turn to be examined.
A few people started to notice that Alex had gone pale and some of them had decided it was the perfect thing to torment him about. "What's wrong Rider?" One of them teased. "Are you scared of the doctor?" A few kids around he laughed but Alex just ignored them. He was used to it l. Ever since he returned to Brookland people has treated him differently due to all his unexplainable absences.
Tom shot him a sympathetic look while Snake finished examining his left arm. Unfortunately this meant it was Alex's turn and he couldn't get one question out of his head. 'How could he explain his injuries to the group and his teacher? How would everyone react when Snake discovers his bullet wound?
