"Cub." Fox said slowly his voice trembling with shock. "Do you want to know your time?" The soldier asked still clearly in shock of what he had just witnessed the teenager do.
Alex's muscles were screaming at him. He found himself unable to speak so he slowly nodded his head in response.
"Your time was...
————————————————
"Your time was 8 minutes 34 seconds!"
Alex felt everyone's eyes on him while he looked at the stopwatch speechless. Last time he was here he had achieved a time of seventeen minutes but now he had completed it in under nine.
Alex frantically racked his brain trying to figure out how he could explain his excellent time without creating more problems than he already had.
Fortunately, his thoughts were interrupted by a echoing shout coming from the Sergeant's cabin.
"Can someone tell me what I'd going on here!" He bellowed intimidating the teenagers around Alex. Taking control of the situation, Wolf saluted the Sergeant before asking "can I talk to you for a minute sir?" The Sergeant looked at him appalled by his directness. "What could be so important you need to talk to me right now?" He questioned.
"It's about cub!" The soldier whispered so only the Sergeant could hear him.
His superior's eyes widened at the mention of Alex.
"Go back to your barracks immediately. We will discuss this further in the morning." The man stated before turning swiftly around followed by Wolf and the rest of K-unit.
*Tom's POV*
What had just happened? I mean I knew that Alex must be good because otherwise MI6 wouldn't risk using him again and again. But I didn't realise how good of an agent my best friend really was.
*Flashback to after Alex had left the barracks*
I stared at the oak door in shock. I knew Alex had a lot of injuries and I knew about his bullet wound but I never knew the full extent of how bad they actually were.
Questions filled my head. 'How was Alex going to explain the injuries? How could he justify the reason for his scorpion tattoo? What explanation would people come up with to explain the scars and burn marks?' But most of all, I couldn't help wondering about my classmates reaction to Alex's mysterious past.
Deciding it would be best to face the music and listen to the rumours about my best friend so I could at least warn he about what to expect once he returned to the group.
*The rest of the group's POV*
The teens exchanged glances with their friends as the fair haired boy stormed out of the room.
*Conversation between a group of boys who enjoyed teasing Alex about his absences*
"What's up with him? I don't know did you hear him say about the bullet wound!? It can't be true can it? He would have died if it was that close to his heart wouldn't he?"
*Conversation between 'the popular girls'*
'What do you think happened to him? I don't know but did you see the scars!? I feel bad for him. Everyone in the group now knows something about him that he tried to keep secret. Did you see his muscles? I know. I never would have thought him of all people would be so athletic, especially considering he is 'ill' all the time."
