JESS POV
I woke up early in the morning, as usual. 5 a.m. is my time to begin every day of my boring, empty life. How miserable could be a person who have everything? I could tell – very miserable, sad, depressed and... empty.
Nevermind...
I choose to go for a run. As a women in mid 30 I had to do a lot to not be fat, because I loved to eat. I run, swim, cycle. Fortunately exercises were fun for me. My dad was very demanding, so I had to pursue his dream – to be fucking perfect. But... I could choose sport activity.
I made two round around the nearby park and came back to apartment. I was living alone, on the 70th floor with the view on NYC.
After jogging I started my daily routine – shower, no make-up (I liked to be natural), hair (just comb my short, dark hair), clothes (nothing fancy – shoes, sweat pants, t-shirt) breakfast (eggs with bacon and black coffee), finally – go to work with bicycle.
I drove safely through the busy street, passed by people busy in their minds. It's peculiar how life can drove us crazy when all you do is thinking about job, children, problems, lack of time. Life should be about living not struggling.
Coming through the big entrance of the Hunter Company I thought about my life. Without struggling but always under control of my father, who wanted me to became his heir. But he didn't ask me about my plans, my dreams. He didn't realize the fact, that I'm not a man, who would want have a family. I want freedom. So was I now, doing job in management that I hate, studying law during weekend, instead of traveling around the world. I always dreamed about travel.
"Jess! Jess! Wait for me!" Someone called me. I immediately stopped the elevator, recognized familiar voice.
"Thanks" said the tall, dark skinned man. The door closed behind him. The elevator started journey to 50th floor, the top one.
"Oli, you're here so early in the morning? Are you alright?" I asked my best friend.
"I have to finish report for Elizabeth. You know she can be scary when disappointed." He said jokingly. I chuckled.
"Just admit that you still want to date her already. You don't give up, truly..."
"No, I will wait for her. Forever and longer." He sighed.
"You know, she is in relationship. Three years. I heard that her boyfriend is looking for a engage ring. I am sorry, but you have to faced the truth." I said sternly. I want for Oli to move on from this chick.
"I heard you, I thank you, but it's my decision when to stop fighting." The man smiled.
It's why I love this guy. He is always so positive and kind. I don't know why he is so fascinated by Elizabeth. She is real bitch, without respect for her employees. I still can't understand why my father made her a general manager in finance department. People there hate her with passion. I personally can't stand her, but we have to cooperate and meet at every Friday board meetings.
"Besides, you just can't teach me. You're more lonely than me." He said jokingly.
"True"
"Why don't you give a chance these all women who are after you?"
"Because they do not want me, but my last name – Hunter."
"Bullshit. Look in the mirror. You're gorgeous, 6 feet tall, with athletic body, green eyes. You're smart and funny – outside the work. You can't stand that you're desirable."
"Oh for God's sake, let me be." I groaned, blushing furiously.
"Seriously Jess, I think that you should try with somebody. If not with woman, then try with man. I still don't know your sexuality..." He sighed deeply. I don't know why he want so much to be my wingman.
