Memory < 3 > An Impassable Line
A chill went down my spine, both from the frosty breeze and the dark presence behind my back. It's something out of the world, an entity that doesn't seem human but exposes an aura of pure shadow from the dark forest. The sound of his bright voice opposed his unknown presence...
I slowly turned my vision around to see the figure behind me, but he wasn't in my view at all! Was it just my hallucination, or did he go into hiding right away? It twisted my mind, and I felt a bit lost in what's happening.
I mind as well be my instinct telling me I shouldn't proceed. I'll listen. Just let me get down from here.
I peeked down below me, and it seemed to be far down. However, my claws could slide my way—
"...Kid... Isn't ignorance a wonderful personality?" And there's that voice again!?
With my sight lifted, it came across an outline of green surrounding the shadowy void. The feet and arms seemed to be coming out from a mythology underworld. Only three toes and fingers. The body of a demon and a tail like a feline, sharp like a blade.
A white bowtie alongside a tie going down to his stomach. A stygian blue hood over his head. Unusual pointy ears perked from above, swirling pupils within his expansive eyes and the smile of a sadistic predator. W-what is he!?
The panic caused sweat to my fingers. All of them slipping off the edge lost my grip, and I tipped backward, unable to reach for a wall to balance. Hands reached as if anyone going to grab that—
"GAHH!... H-h-huh!? Wha—?"
The entity's wide smile still remained, although his eerie claw snatched my hand without hurting me. Hanging from his arm, I noticed his other claw gripped onto the edge. His feet stabbed straight in the gate. It seemed like this creature of some sort wasn't... Bad.
He scoffed and grabbed my whole body, then went for the far ground below. His raptor-like feet gently landed on the ground before he placed me down afterward.
We froze for a moment, staring at each other...
"Fear not, a scary monster saved you." A raised arm followed by a bonk on my head!!!
"Uuwahh! Oww-OW! Why do you do that!? That hurts!" I hissed as I held my hands on my head, rolling on the ground.
"That's what a scary monster does. They hurt you. Oh wait." The entity pretended he saw something, looking around curiously. "I think it went away, you're safe now, Kid."
I sniffed with tears down an eye, standing up and confronting the unknown in front of me. My dazed mind never failed to maintain seeing his everlasting smile like a recurring nightmare... Creepy~...
"You don't have to hit me!"
"I stopped you from missing steak. They sure are delicious. Right kid with fangs and thirst for meat?" He smirked with a finger rubbing his nose.
