Chapter 42: Sleeping beauty

Jennie's POV

"I was able to save her, however I can't promise anything. To be honest with you, only miracle can save her now all we have to do is wait for her." My tears keeps on flowing while listening to JK's Dad.

"One thing is for sure, she's fighting. Maybe she knows someone here is waiting for her, patiently. Let's just trust her. Excuse me." He added and left us.

"Darling." I averted my gaze to Mom and Dad together with Bambam.

"Baby." I opened my arms as Bambam run to hug me tight.

"Is Dada okay Mom? She won't leave us again right? She promise me, she won't break it again right Mom?" His voice cracks.

My heart is aching hearing my son.

"D-Don't worry baby okay? Your Dada is the most brave Dada in the whole world. She will surely come back to us." I wipe his tears as I said these words to him.

"Darling, how's the operation?" My mom asked.

I tried to hold back my tears.

"S-She's fighting Mom." I answered.

Dad took Bambam home since he needs to go to school.

Mom caressed my back.

"I'm sure she is, she knows that you and Bambam is waiting for her. Be strong dear okay? Have faith to the mighty saviour." My tears flows.

"I-I am Mom, I am." I whispered.

She then hug me tight.

I tried to be strong for Lisa.

I waited for her even it takes me another five years.

Days becomes weeks,

Weeks becomes months,

Until it's a year already, and yet...

She's still sleeping.

"Yah, sleeping beauty when will you wake up?" I whispered.

"Do you want me to find a prince charming to kiss you?" I added.

I chuckled.

"But no, a prince should not be on your list cause I'm here already." I kissed her forehead.

I'm avoiding to kissed her lips.

Because I'm afraid, that it will be my last kiss to her.

"Baby, I'm still here okay? And I'll be just right here, so if you want to take up your time, then be it, just please, please wake up." Here it goes my tears.

I was about to hold her hand when her whole body starts from shaking.

"L-Lisa? Lisa!" I pressed the nurse alarm.

And just seconds later the nurses and the doctor comes in.

"Excuse me."

"D-Doc, w-what's happening?" I was crying now.

"Let's go outside Jen." But I pulled my hand.

"N-No! I'm staying here!"

"Just follow me!" Tzuyu shouted and so I look at her.

She then grab my shaking hands outside.

I was able to see the inside by the transparent window.

I saw they are performing CPR to Lisa.

"B-Baby, p-please, please." I whispered while tears keeps on flowing.

"She's fighting, look at her finger." I averted my gaze to her hand.

And yeah I saw her ring finger move.

I bite my lips.

"She's safe, for now. I'm afraid that the next time this happens, we might lose her for real. Aside from her finger that she moves, there's no other sign for a fast recovery. I'm really sorry, but we have to get ready for the worst." I was just listening to him while I'm holding my Lisa's hand.

Tzuyu is still with me.

"Tzu, should I let her go?" I asked her.

"Stop being negative, Lisa is fighting so you-

"But what if she's already tired?" I let go my tears.

"What if she wanted to rest for real but she knows I am waiting so even she's tired-

"So you're going to give her up again Jennie?" We averted our gaze to Irene.

"How could you? How could you do this for the second time around?" She added.

"I think I need to leave you both here." Tzuyu said then left us.

I look back to Lisa.

"Lisa, she's my life. My everything, seeing her suffer earlier it suddenly slaps me Irene. I saw her finger move, I saw her willingness to live, and I saw how she shed a tear after she was saved by the Doctor." I sniffed.

"She was doing all that for you Jennie, and you're giving her up?" She asked.

"Because it hurts, it hurts to see her suffering! While I can't do anything for her." I kneeled down as I was crying hard.

She went to my direction and caress my hair.

"You can do something, and you know what?" She whispered.

"It's to fight this battle with her, you guys may lose this one, but atleast you both tried to fight. You understand me?" I just answered her with silent tears.

I was staring at my ring.

"Y-You're right, I need to be brave, and fight for her along the way. Irene, I need your help." I look at her.

She got confused.

"I'm going to marry her here at the hospital." I wipe my tears.

It's now or never.

I want Lisa to know that until the very last moment, I still choose to be her bride.

And after a week of preparation, here I am walking from the outside of her room while sunflower petals are all around me.

They are looking at me with tears on their faces.

My wedding day is supposed to be happy, but look at them crying.

And so I am.

Beside me is my little groom.

Bambam.

I know he's also sad.

He knows what's happening.

I already told him, that we might lose his Dada soon.

But he never lose hope.

He always pray to God.

To save her.

"Jennie Ruby Jane Kim, do you take Lalisa Manoban to be your lawfully wedded wife? Do promise to love and cherish her, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, for better for worse, and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto her, for so long as you both shall live?" The officiant asked.

I bite my lips as I was staring at her.

"I will always do." I whispered.

The ceremony goes on and I was just staring at Lisa for the whole time.

"And now, you may kiss your wife." The wedding officiant said.

I wipe my tears and slowly lowered my head to her.

And put my lips to my wife.

I was closing my eyes.

Her lips.

It was soft.

I felt it moves, but I know I'm just hallucinating.

And when I stop and look at her...

She's also staring at me.

"Lisa!" They all shouted in delight.
