It was late night.I was packing my bags.Oh no!Where did I leave my diary?I was hunting for it since the past fifteen minutes... only to find it sticking out from a corner of my pillow .I pulled it out and threw it in my bag.Sigh! At last...I had packed everything I could remember. I had to catch 5 o' clock's flight to India.Yes,I was leaving.I couldn't tolerate even one more day here for U.S.A. to me was a thief that had robbed me of my beloved.I sat down heavily on the bed, tired. It was then that I suddenly remembered what Amey had said yesterday before leaving...read tomorrow's newspapers...and I hadn't read them. What in the wide world was so special about them today?Anyway, there was no harm in reading and so I decided to read them out of curiosity.
"Susan!" I called out to the maid."Will you bring today's newspaper?"
"Yes Ma'am" she said and hurriedly came back with a newspaper in her hand.I was beginning to trust her.Dhe was nice and obedient.
"Thanks, dear. And will you please leave me undisturbed for a while?I want some sleep now.But don't forget to wake me up at 3 a.m. I have to catch 5:30's flight.
"Yes Ma'am" she said closing the door of my room.I locked the door and curiously glanced at the front page of the paper.
And I promptly sat down clutching the edge of my bed.I could feel the world whirling around me."No...no...this can't be true...this can't be true..." I choked on my words.
