It was January 21, 2021. It was cold in Tokyo that day.
"Hurry up Aya! We're gonna be late!" Ayako's brother, Kayake called.
"Just a minute Kayake! Hold your pants up!" Ayako yelled down the stairs at her brother. Today was the first day at Ayako's new highschool. The Takei family had moved many times because of their dads job. Finally, Ayako walked down the stairs in her school uniform. "Bye mom! Love you!" Ayako called before shutting the door and racing her brother down to the bus stop.
As they were running, Ayako hit someone and knocked them down with her. "Oh sorry! I didn't see you there!" She said, as she helped the boy stand up while standing herself.
"It's alright!" The boy said as he picked up his phone and dusted himself off. "I wasn't paying much attention. By the way, I'm Kirishima! What's your name?" The boy asked, looking up at Ayako.
"I'm Ayako! You can call me Aya. And this is my brother, Kayake!" Ayako said as she stepped aside and pushed her brother into view.
"Well it was very nice to meet you but I've got to get going. I left my notes on the sofa and I might need those!" The boy said, chuckling, as he rushed off into the distance and out of view.
"He seemed quite nice, right?" Ayako asked, looking in her brother's direction. "Anyway, we better get going too! Or WE are gonna be late!" Ayako said with a laugh as they ran to the bus stop just in time to catch the bus. On the bus, Ayako sits with her best friend, Hanako. She had been in this town for a few years, so she made friends and it turns out, Hanako was her neighbor!
"What was all that staring about? OM Gosh! Did you meet a boy? Was he nice? Was he cute? Did you know hi-" Hanako was cut off by Ayako.
"YES! I did. And yes, yes, and no. I've never seen him around. He looked like the definition of the color red! He said he left his notes at home and had to go get them. He also reminded me of Hitoshi..." Ayako said as she drooped her head at that last part.
"Girl you need to forget about Hitoshi as long as you live! He was a horrible man that we will never EVER see again!" Hanako said as she flipped her hair and about smacked the middle schooler sitting across the aisle. Ayako hated riding the bus in the morning but it was required in her house now because her mom got a new job and couldn't take her and her brother to school anymore. In about 12 minutes (In counting) they arrived at school and got off the bus. When Hanako left without her, she began to get nervous. But she shook it off and walked in.
