"It ain't my choice to live the way I live. These are the opportunities I've been given, it's take 'em or die broke. I gotta find a way up one day though, can't stay with the Heights forever. This gang shit's stupid. They say it's all about "love and prosperity" or whatever the fuck they want you to think, but it's just a couple dudes at the top using their neighbors to keep their hands clean and pockets fat. Fuck 'em. I'ma get outta here one day."
"I can't do another stint in prison, last time was some shit. I gotta go legit soon."
"My teachers always said to keep my eyes on my own paper. Realest shit I've ever heard."
Name: Alejandro Mazella
Age: 25
Looks: Alejandro typically just wears normal street clothes, like black forces, black sweats, a white LA tee with a black hoodie over it, and occasionally maybe a Dodger cap. If he needs to represent, he might put on a green LA cap and a green tee, but tries to not dress affiliated unless necessary. He stands decently tall at 6'1 and sports a toned and slender build, which helps him move quickly and efficiently when need be. He'd been caught once, and didn't intend on letting it happen again. He has messy brown hair and beautiful light hazel eyes, along with a nice face that he takes pride in. His only other notable features are a few bullet and knife scars on his torso, a dragon scale tat running along his left arm, and a tattoo of his mom's name on the right side of his neck.
Personality: Alejandro's a good man stuck in between a rock and a hard place. To anyone that just happens to bump into him, he comes off as a take no shit, look at me wrong and I'll kick your teeth in kind of person, but with the lifestyle he lives he has no choice but to keep a front like that. His real self is definitely tough and he's got a hell of a lot of grit, but he's got soft spots for those he cares about, and will do anything to see them succeed in life since he can't seem to succeed himself. He's got a ton of ambition and drive, but probably towards the wrong career path. He wants to get out of the Heights, a *fictional* lower-class area in LA, where he runs with a gang that does mostly petty crimes, and the occasional ransom or big-time hustle, like stealing gas tankers or moving large amounts of drugs wherever is needed. Typically it's just hitting gas stations and slanging on street corners, but whatever. It pays the bills.
Occupation: Gang member and occasional independent hustler.
Family/Friends: Maria Mazella, mother, killed at age 33 in a drive-by shooting.
Flecha Mazella, 28, older brother who he lives with and runs along with in the Heights. He introduced Alejandro to street life, and he's always held a bit of a grudge over it.
Marcos Nuvillen, 26, his closest friend who's honestly a bit of an idiot. He's even more ambitious than Alejandro is, but he's ambitious to rise the ranks in the gang, the complete opposite of Alejandro who wants to leave and get into organized crime. They both hustle together and have each other's backs always, but one day that might change.
Talents: Alejandro's one hell of a good driver, and a half-decent shot, though he can be sloppy sometimes. He's tough as nails and can be very intimidating, not to mention very fearless, if these can even be considered talents. He's good at crime, not really at anything conventional.
Dislikes: Street life in general, gang mentality, small-time crime.
Likes: Organized crime, money, success.
Backstory: Alejandro was raised on the Heights since he was young, actually a really good kid when he was little. Gifted and talented in elementary, high grades in middle school, but then... Dropped out in high school. His older brother, Flecha, had dragged him into the street life at 14, using him as a lookout on house burglaries, carjackings, gas station licks, you name it. And of course, he'd snap him off some money, and... Well, that's all it took for Alejandro to devote himself to the lifestyle, much to his mother's disapproval. She wanted them both out of the life, and they were digging themselves deeper and deeper. One day he'd grow to regret it. He went to juvi once when they were caught breaking into a school, but wasn't there for long since his brother got pinned for basically everything. Life was... Strange, but he was making what he saw as good money. They eventually stole a car they shouldn't have stolen, belonging to a member of a neighboring gang named the 87s, and in retaliation, they took it a step farther and found their house, and shot it up. Everyone in the home was shot, and his mother was killed. Shit was... Not good. He vowed to never return to the street life, completely devastated, but like an idiot went along with his brother and shot up a neighborhood belonging to the 87s. That was the first time he ever killed someone, and he wouldn't forget it. Life was fucked. The two gangs have had beef ever since, but Alejandro had managed to stay out of the crosshairs somehow. He continued to hustle for a few years before getting shot by a homeowner during a house burglary and arrested by LAPD, serving a four-year stint at age 20. Now just recently having got out of jail, Alejandro knew he couldn't live a normal life. It was crime or nothing now. It was time to move up to something bigger... And he was going to get there no matter what.
(Honestly, this character is better suited to be used in a book, but eh. He'll do perfectly for a crime RP. Scenarios coming soon.)
