"I took a look at your file. There's no record of you or your crimes. What are you here for?"
Caitlyn Kiramman. Former Enforcer. Outcast. Currently breaking the law
"My sunny personality"
Violet "Vi". Vander's prodigy. One of three survivors. Arrested by said law
Caitlyn: You attacked an inmate. Why?
Vi: Why not?
Caitlyn asked from outside the cell. Her eyes fixed on the woman walking inside. One that didn't even spare her a look
Caitlyn: He was a witness in an ongoing investigation
Vi: So I've heard. Bummer
Caitlyn sighed as she held the leather book of notes that had now both hers and her best friend's theories
Caitlyn: This was a waste of time
Vi: Couldn't have put it better
Just as Cait was about to leave her, Vi decided to say something. Something that would change everything
Vi: Hey, give Silco a kiss on that winning eye of his, will you?
This odd comment made Kiramman stop in her tracks and return to Vi's cell
Caitlyn: Silco? The industrialist?
Vi: Okay, this is getting old. Can you just send in whoever's gonna kick the shit out of me, so I can get on with my night?
The former Enforcer didn't listen. She focused on what Vi said earlier
Silco, the underground's most notorious personality
And according to the notes you wrote in the book she was currently consulting, also the man that murdered your family and presumably took control of the Lanes for himself
This girl knew something, and Caitlyn was going to discover what it was
So she took a risk and approached the cell, stepping past the recommended distance marked by a red stripe on the floor, and she showed Vi a specific page of the book
This one had random notes surrounding a symbol. The symbol present on the airship's hatch during the attack that started this investigation
Caitlyn: Does this mean anything to you?
Seeing this monkey awoke something in the pink-haired girl. A fire
That urge to protect, to find her family
Vi: Where did you get this?
Vi slammed her hands into the bars of her cell door. Her tough and dismissive attitude changed drastically to genuine concern
The sound of her fists getting ahold of the cells in such a violent manner was loud enough to generate a reaction. Not only did it startle Caitlyn, but it also jolted someone awake
"Y/N". Vander's blood son. Former singer. On your way to change the undercity
You
Caitlyn: My question first. He worked for Silco?
Vi answered quickly, not caring much for her question, but rather, focusing on the monkey drawing
Vi: Uh, they all do. How can anyone not know that? Where did you find this?
Then she looked over at your cell, with the same urgency
Vi: Y/N? You in there?
There was no answer, but hearing your name being called out forced you to get a hold of your surroundings faster
