Title - Driver? (Continuation of part 1)
Type - Alternative Universe
~~

"Fiancé? Neenga?" Sivaangi felt as though a big bomb was dropped on her head just now, her head spun as she tried to process the information she had just received. She pushed Ashwin away and broke out of his embrace, unable to look at him in the face.

(Fiancé? You?)

Those three words he had said still kept ringing in her ears, she had too many questions running through her mind and she needed answers to them immediately, originally she had thought there was some other reason for the mishap that was caused by Ashwin, but never in her dreams did she expect him to be the fiancé her parents had chosen for her.

Ashwin didn't show a hint of surprise when looking at her reaction, he had expected this, he knew once he broke the truth to her she would push him away, that she would ask him questions and get confused. It was reasonable, like what else would someone do when their driver comes up to them and says "I'm your fiancé".

"Neenga.. naa epdi?" she held onto her head, all this was too much for her.

(You, me.. how?)

Ashwin sensing her instability moved forward and held her, guiding her to sit down. He wanted to give her the time and space needed so that she could come out of the shock and come back to reality, to question him, to scold him, to do whatever she wanted to.

Sivaangi shook her head to clear her thoughts, she looked up at Ashwin with a firm and steady gaze, "Neenga enna solreenga-nu ennaku puriyala, konjam vizhakam-ah sollunga"

(I don't understand what your saying, can you explain more clearly)

"Naa thaan sonnen-la, naa thaan ma un parents paartha maapilai" he says.

(I already told you, I'm the fiancé your parents had chosen)

"Athaan eppdi? Ithu eppdi nadanthuchu? Neenga thaan maapilai-na neenga yen ivlo naal en driver-ah iruntheenga?" an exasperated Sivaangi asks.

(That is what I'm asking, how did this happen? If your are my fiancé then why were you my driver all this time?)

"Annaiku nee enna meet panna first day gnyabagam iruku-la?" Ashwin asks.

(Do you remember the day we first met?)

"Gnyabagam iruku"

(I do)

"Seri iru naa solren annaiku enna nadanthathu-nu"

(Okay then, I'll tell you what exactly happened on that day)

(Flashback)

That day Ashwin was getting ready for work, he had bid his mother and father goodbye and was about to leave the house when his phone rang, stopping him in his tracks.

"Sollunga uncle" Ashwin says into the phone.

(What's up Uncle?)

"Enna ithu? Innum-ah uncle-nu solra, Mama-nu urimaiya koopdu pa"

(What is this? Are you still addressing me as your uncle?, call me 'Mama' you have the right to do so)

"Aana uncle..-"

(But uncle-)

"Illa maapilai, kandippa neenga Mama-nu thaan koopdanum" his father in law says sternly.

(No son in law, you have to address me as Mama)

"Seringa Mama" Ashwin says with a chuckle.

(Sure Mama)
