Chapter 13: grand trials

Angelo went up to the stage and said "so the trials for these other etherians are going to start tomorrow! You have time to prepare of course, tomorrow at 12 pm, meet us at the volcano then we'll start." Terry clapped and snow sugar just coughed. They went to their houses and went to sleep.

Custard was dozing off until something landed near him! Custard woke up and saw a honey stick. He grabbed it and inspected it. "Cool..." he put it on his back and went back to sleep.

Pumpkin spice was running around as he was excited for the trials. "I need to prepare for the trials!" He started jumping around too. Snow sugar used powder snow and purposely made pumpkin spice sneeze. "H-HEYY aa-AAAACHOO!" He sneezed and fell down. "Now can you please sleep.." snow sugar said. Pumpkin spice went on his bed and slept.

Sorbet and terry are busy sleeping.
Pyro was the only one awake.
Pyro's thoughts - bold

These trials are kind of worrying me, they weren't curious but vicious against us when we first met them, what if the trials are just traps so they can eliminate us, what if the trials are impossible and they force us to die?! WHAT IF- no,no no no no no no NO! Their kind people, Yeah! Kind people... KIND.PEOPLE.

12 pm - pheonix gaze village.
"Welcome everyone to the grand trials!!!" Said angelo. "As you don't know, the trials are here to PROVE your worth to our village to protect it. Now, IS EVERYONE READY?!" The group cheered. "Our first challenge is the volcano jumps! You must jump on small obsidian platforms and make it to the battle arena and face one of us to pass and make it to the end!" *pyro's thoughts: i knew it! Using lava for us to die! Good thing i can resist it.* "NOW GO!!!"pyro was up first, he scurried from platform to platform until he reached the arena. His first opponent was: KEITH! "You ready?" Keith pulled out his sword and faced it towards pyro. "Im ready." Pyro charged at keith and used bite. Keith reflected and then used astonish and slash and then VANISHED turning invisible. *pyro's mind: what the... this might be tougher than i thou-* Pyro got hit with a shadow ball and fell. Pyro got up and used ember then astonish before leaping into the air dodging a shadow ball. Keith started using double team, pyro didn't know which was the real keith but remebered, astonish sends four at once in every direction! Pyro used astonish and then a fire fang to grab onto keith and used bite. "AGH! pretty good moves but i can still fight!" Keith used a mixture of shadow ball and astonish to get pyro off. Pyro quickly charged at keith and shot an ember and fire fang. "Owch... well you win..." keith used heal pulse and teleported out of the volcano. Pyro hopped on the platform and went out of the volcano.
Sorbets turn!
Sorbet hops from platform to platform slowly. She makes it to the arena where her opponent is.......
PAPRIKA!!! "Trust me, this isn't going to be easy for you!" Paprika took an attacking stance immediately. Sorbet used water gun but got pounced on by paprika. Sorbet tried getting paprika off but had no physical moves! Sorbet realized something, all of paprikas moves were physical, she had acid armor so if sorbet stacked enough acid armors, she could tank out the damage! Sorbet decided to go for it and kept using acid armor while paprika kept using scratches, bites, and pounces. After a long period of time, sorbet used water gun while trying to maintain her health. But then, paprika smiled. "ITS OVER FOR YOU! You think maximizing your defense will make sure you endure every hit i lash out? THINK AGAIN!" Paprika then used POWER PLAY (they renamed swords dance to power play) has all sorbets work gone to nothing? Paprika had been able to raise her attack to nullify sorbets acid armors..

Sorbet only could use water gun and make sure she doesn't lose... a lot of dodging and water guns later...
"That was too long... glad its over..." sorbet had FINALLY won. Now its terry's turn! He took his time, tried to not fall in the lava and made it!! His opponent was.... RANGER!!! "U-uh i may be s-small and w-w-weak but i can still f-fight!!" Ranger seemed very nervous. "Not that big into fights but good luck." Terry got ready.. waiting... waiting... he was waiting for ranger to charge... WAITING..... terry sighed and used giga drain. Ranger did some sort of roll and then used ember. Terry dodged it and used earthquake. Ranger didn't know what to do! So he forfeited.. "i cant fight that well!!! I'll never be as good as the others..." ranger in defeat, went back. Terry finished the challenge! There was only 1 spot left. Pumpkin spice or snow sugar.... "I think i should go, im way more talented!" "NUH UH YOU KNOW IM WAY MORE TALENTED THAN YOU!" Pumpkin spice and snow sugar kept bickering back and forward... keith let out a big sigh. "OH MY GOD SO ANNOYING!!! YOU TWO STOP ARGUING AND JUST FIGHT EACH OTHER AS YOUR CHALLENGE INSTEAD!!!" Keith yelled. He then stormed off. "I better go talk to him, angelo and ranger will decide." Paprika then went after keith. After deciding for a while...  "Hold on, why do we even continue the trials? We've already gained trust for them So why continue??" Ranger didn't understand.  "Thats true.. well i guess you guys can either stay with us or go." Angelo said. "I dont like adventuring, too much work. so i'll stay!" Custard said. "If custards staying i am too!" Said pyro. "The rest of us will go continue our adventure!" Said terry. "Well i guess its goodbye terry." Pyro gave terry a hug. "Cmon custard, lets go follow angelo and ranger!" Pyro and custard ran after them. Terry and the others went towards the ice biome and ventured further!
