The Surprise of a Lifetime

chapter 6

meredith didn't know what to think. she walked into her house after performing 2 surgeries to see her husband's ex-wife trying to seduce him. meredith walked into their bedroom and locked the door.

"meredith, please open the door" derek said.
"give me a minute derek" she said.

a fire started in meredith. she opened the door, pushed derek out of the way and walked over to addison.

"i'm going to say this one time, so you better listen. you need to get into your car and get as far away from my family as possible. we don't need anything that you're offering to us. get out" meredith finished.
"meredith-" addison started.
"no! get out of my house!" meredith said and opened the front door.

addison slowly walked out of their house and meredith slammed the door shut.

"mer-" derek started.
"please stop, derek. i need a minute" meredith said, tears pricking in her eyes.

meredith went to the bathroom and wiped the tears off of her face. all she wanted was a perfect life. she had it, but then she lost it. she heard a knock on the door.

"mer, can i please come in?" derek asked.

meredith didn't answer, but derek opened the door anyway.
he saw the dried up tears on her face.

"meredith" he said while his heart dropped.

derek walked over to meredith and hugged her tight.

"i'm so tired, derek" meredith cried.
"i know, i know" derek soothed her.
"i can't be 100% at my job and be the best mother i can at the same time" she cried.
"you're an amazing mother, mer. you're doing a great job" he assured her.

meredith stopped hugging derek and wiped the tears off of her face.

"we need to talk about addison" meredith said.
"okay, what's up?" derek asked.
"we need to take that child" meredith said.
"wha-" derek started"
"we need to take her. obviously, if her mom would give her up over a man, then that isn't a good home for her" meredith interrupted.
"are you sure?" derek asked.
"yes, I'm sure" meredith assured.

all of a sudden, meredith and derek heard bailey cry.

"i'll get him" derek said.
"i'm going to make dinner" meredith said.

meredith walked into the living room and saw Zola watching moana, again.

"Hey, Zo! what are you doing?" meredith asked.
"Moana" Zola said.
"do you want to help mommy make dinner?" meredith asked.
"yes!" Zola said, trying her hardest to pronounce her S's.

meredith got out the pot and started to boil some water.

"how does spaghetti sound, Zo?" meredith asked with a smile.
"yummy!" Zola cooed.

meredith sat Zola on the counter so she could she what was happening. meredith added the spaghetti in the pot and stirred it. Zola tried to stick her hand close to the pot.

"hot" meredith said and Zola pulled her hand away.

when the spaghetti was done, meredith strained it and poured into another pot that contained the sauce. after, she added some cheese and the spaghetti was done.

"all done, Zo" meredith said.
"do you want to go finish watching moana?" meredith asked.
"yes!" Zola asked, still not pronouncing her S's right.

meredith walked upstairs to bailey's nursery and she saw her husband with bailey in his arms rocking in the chair, while they were both asleep.

"my boys" meredith said sweetly.

derek woke up and cracked a small smile.

"dinner's ready" meredith said and took bailey from him.
"i'll make this one a bottle" meredith cooed.

they all sat down at the dinner table. Zola had cut up spaghetti with apple juice in her sippy cup and bailey had a warm bottle.
after dinner, they all sat down on the couch and watched frozen (Zola's second favorite movie).

i know this chapter is kind of boring, but i needed a filler chapter. i'm trying to post one chapter a day. comment any suggestions you have and don't forget to vote!! have a Merry Christmas Eve!!
