Chapter 3: Friend

Espresso arrived to the apartment. After meeting Pure Vanilla he needs to log some things about his day. So after eating dinner and Johanna and Aria went to bed he got to writing. He wrote about how his suspicions were correct, as expected. He also wrote about finding Lilac is a bizarre situation as well. Espresso also wonders as he writes if the cafe is a good magnet for these people. Most of the people that have dropped by are from Earthbread so it was acting like a magnet for them. After that Espresso went on to write about his research, he is now able to use the coffee machine without being loud. And so by then the sun rises and Espresso goes to pretend that he is sleeping and waits for Johanna to start making breakfast, which she did soon. Espresso, ate the breakfast and left heading off to work. He opened the door to hear the jingle of it and he entered the back area putting on his apron. Espresso was just sitting there waiting until someone entered the shop, of course it was the blonde Mal. He walked up to the counter with a smile, Pure Vanilla was taking his order. Mal seemed to wave at Espresso from behind the counter. Espresso chose to ignore him and Mal sighed. Pure Vanilla said something that Espresso couldn't hear those words properly though as they were whispers. With the order finished Espresso starts to make the coffee and once it is done he calls Mal.

"Have a good day my friend." Mal said with a smile.

He took the coffee.

"You too." Espresso said.

Mal walked out with the drink the bell chimed signaling his departure. Latte was walking over with a smug smile. She had the, 'I am coming to tease you' look on her face. Which usually consisted of the smug smile, eyes staring at him and some fancy walk. She made her way to Espresso and he got ready for what she was about to say.

"Wow Ess you're actually talking to him again." She said,

"Yes, now leave me alone." Espresso huffed.

She chuckled a bit before leaving Pure Vanilla just watched it happen and someone entered the store. It was the same purple hair from yesterday, it was Lilac. Latte, Espresso and Pure Vanilla stared at him and they stared back. Espresso was the person he approached.

"I have some information to give." Lilac whispered.

"Is it important?" Espresso asked.

Lilac nodded. Espresso led him to Latte's office signaling Pure Vanilla and Latte to follow, Molly took over as they were there, Latte explained they just needed to talk with this person as they were friends. Lilac noticed Pure Vanilla when they followed him. Now they're in her office, Lilac stared at Pure Vanilla.

"May I know who you are? Lilac asked.

"Of course! I am Pure Vanilla." He replied.

"Nice to meet you again." Lilac bowed.

"Ah no need to bow." Pure Vanilla said.

"Well Lilac pardon me but I must interrupt you, as you said you have some 'information'." Espresso said.

"Mm, cake monsters have emerged." Lilac said.

The room fell silent as the shock hit them all, even Lilac. The tension grew, there were cake monsters in this world they all knew this wouldn't be good. Especially since this world lacks magic.

"That is concerning." Pure Vanilla said.

"Indeed it is, I have come across some in an alleyway of course being able to get rid of them." Lilac explained.

"Why would they come here to this world, and how?" Latte asked.

The answer struck Pure Vanilla, they came here for the soul jam. Dark Enchantress sent them here to look for the soul jam. That was the only plausible answer otherwise there would be none. Pure Vanilla gripped onto his necklace, holding his soul jam in it. When he arrived his soul jam was out into a golden necklace around his neck. Espresso took note of Pure Vanilla's behavior.
