Lysth deserved a one star rating for it's help.
No, scratch that, it shouldn't be getting any stars. And this wasn't even its help for the plan of revenge. Something way simpler, something a child could do. This was just a test, to see what Lysth could do. Clearly, it had failed.
Currently, he and his spirit-servant were ambling through the halls of the castle. Lysth was floating around, watching as Gos was cleaning up after all the guards. Because it's purpose as Gos's servant was to do the tasks Gos ordered it to do.
Cleaning up after the guards and maids and all the other people in the castle. That was the only job he couldn't escape. According to the King, the maids deserved a break for a job they had to do an hour a day. Gos here had no breaks for a job he did most of his day for almost an entire year. Talk about fairness.
"Lysth, here's your first order: sweep the floor," Gos had ordered the spirit, standing in front of the hallways of the first floor (the most dirtiest floor).
"But I don't know how to. Maybe you can show me, by demonstrating?" Lysth innocently replied, pointing to the entire hallway.
"Fine," he muttered. He got out the broom and started to sweep.
Of course, the spirit was paying attention. Mostly. After demonstrating, Gos gave the cleaning instruments to the spirit, who replied with, "You're almost done cleaning, aren't you. I don't want to get in your way, so maybe you should just finish up this floor. I'll do the second one."
Gos shouldn't have listened, but he did. And with that, he finished the first floor.
The second floor wasn't much better. When Gos told the spirit to do its job, it shrugged, saying, "This floor looks more complicated. Can you show me what to do again?"
And with that, it was the same exact story as the first floor. This kept repeating until the last floor. It just kept avoiding the job, talking its way out of trouble.
Gos should have deserved an award for keeping his cool and not smacking the spirit and sending it flying away.
He really wished there was something that would shut the spirit up.
But did he say anything to the spirit that would get it to stop talking? Not unless he wanted to turn into a frog, be cursed to tell the truth or something. Instead, he had a perfectly good method of balling up his fists, and mentally screaming inside his head, while looking perfectly normal on the outside.
Now, for instance, if Lysth hadn't been magical, Gos would've had no trouble putting it in its place. But that was the problem: Lysth was in fact a spirit. One wrong move could've gotten him cursed. He literally had no choice but to restrain himself.
At one point, on the third floor, Gos had dropped the cleaning tools. "Enough Lysth. Stop avoiding this. Just do your job, like you're meant to."
Lysth mocked a look of shock. "Really? But I promised to help you with your task of revenge, not cleaning the castle."
"I'm your master Lysth. You're the one who wanted to be my 'slave' or whatever. Now just do your job."
It looked taken aback. "That wasn't very nice of you Gos."
"Just do your job!"
That led to a staring contest, which lasted for maybe three minutes until Gos gave in. He muttered about how dumb the whole thing was and went back to cleaning. But at the corner of his eyes, he swore he saw a smirk on its face.
So with that the third, forth, and fifth floor were all cleaned up, no thanks to Lysth. The only good thing about the entire thing that he could find was that the higher up he went, the less dirtier it was. But that was it, nothing else.
By the time Lysth "understood" the task, he had finished the entire job already.
"Whoops. I guess all the cleaning is done. That's too bad," it didn't sound sorry. "Well Gos, I'll help you next time."
"Wow, that was really helpful of you, Lysth. What was the point of becoming my slave or whatever if you weren't just going to help me with what I'm asking for?"
The spirit just gave a light-hearted laugh. "Look Gos, I may be helping you with whatever you need, but I only agreed to help you with your revenge."
"You never said that. You said 'whatever you need'. And this is something I need help with. It's just as important or worthy as helping me with my plans of revenge.
The spirit studied him for a moment, with a look of curiosity on its face. Finally, it said, "Gos, I'm a spirit. I don't do human work, like cooking and cleaning. If I were to help you with that, I wouldn't have offered my services in the first place.
"Well, maybe you should've thought about that before forcing me to accept your services, you know?"
"Gos," Lysth said in a deathly calm tone. "Who's the spirit here, me or you? And who's the one who can curse another being if that said being is being too angry?"
That was Gos's cue to stay silent.
"That's exactly what I thought. Now, don't expect me to do anymore cleaning. I'm only here to help you with revenge, and that's that."
He scowled, but being wise and all said nothing. All what Lysth had said was obviously, commercial to get Gos buy it's services. Not that he had a choice or anything. And just like adds, expectation was severely different from reality.
Not only that, but the fact he'd have to deal with this for a month or two. That was definitely convincing him to speed up his plan for revenge.
A plan started to form in his head, and Gos's lips curved into a smile. "Hey Lysth," he called. The spirit looked up from its nails. "Maybe we should speed up our plans, make revenge come to us quicker.
The spirit let out a mischievous smile. "I'm listening."
"I think you should know about my plans for getting revenge."

A/N:
Hey guys!
So, opinions of Lysth? Do you like it? Do you hate it? Are you somewhere in between or have no opinions?
Also, do you guys have any theories? If so, let me know! I'm curious to see your predictions.
Honestly, that's all I have for this chapter. Got to get going, since Chapter 9 won't write itself.
Have an amazing day/night!
