Zayn and Layla dropped Rya at day care today for the first time. Layla did not expect to be half as emotional as she ended up being. "She's growing up too damn fast'' She said to Zayn.

"Are you really crying?" He asks staring at her with a ghost of a smile playing on his lips

"No" she said and wiped her eyes.

"She's going to be fine. And on the bright side, you and I get to go on a date"

"Are you asking me out?"

"I'm taking you out" he says.

"Hmm. Not the palm olive?"

"Not the palm olive. We're going on a real date." Layla's heart fluttered with excitement in her chest. She looked down at herself and spoke.

"I have to change"

"You look just fine" he says with an eye roll.

"Just fine is not my thing. It's stunning or nothing" Layla says with sass. Zayn was speechless as he watched her sashay out the door. He chuckled to himself.

Layla showered and wore a white fled skirt with peach flowers, a gentle cream blouse with bell sleeves and a peach hijab. She applied minimal makeup and transferred her stuff into her cream bag. She smiled when she realized she hadn't used a handbag in ages. It was either her school book bag or the baby bag. She added another layer of her bubblegum lipgloss and smiled at her mirror reflection.
"Now that's stunning" she says to herself and walked out of the room.

"Mmm mmm mmm mmm" Zayn continued saying shaking his head like he was eating a delicious meal. Layla laughed at his silliness.

"You look absolutely stunning mama" she smiled at him preciously.

"I told you" now it was his turn to laugh.
Layla locked the door and laughed when she saw Zayn holding the car door open for her. She likes the fact that she laughs a lot with him around.

They drove for a total of twenty minutes; 10 in a traffic jam.

"Where are you taking me?"

"It's a surprise"

"I hate surprises"

"Well you're going to suck it up darling. Plus I'm sure you'll like this one" he said and directed his attention back to the road. Layla took the moment to look at him. Really look at him. She had been too terrified to let her self appreciate the man. Afraid that she'll like what she saw.

He was roguishly handsome. He had some grey in his properly groomed beard and in his hair. probably from genetics or stress. He had the healthiest dark skin she's ever seen on a guy; with strong eyebrows and jaw that always seemed to be ticking.

He was wearing a flannel shirt dark green flannel shirt with black jeans. A wristwatch and a silver ring on his left middle finger. He looked run-way ready in the most laidback possible way.

"You want a picture?" He asked with a knowing smirk. Layla rolled her eyes.

"Don't flatter yourself, I was zoned out not checking you out"

He chuckled lightly.
"What ever rocks your boat mama"

Layla noticed they were slowing down so she looked around. They'd arrived at a house?

"Where is this?"

"I have a friend who's dad owns a little chain of farm house resorts all over the country. This is the only one here" Zayn said parking the car.

It was a sight to behold. It was beautiful, serene. There were birds chirping and singing. The cool morning breeze blew gracefully in the warm sun. There was a grass carpeted pathway bordered by apple trees and a little house on the far right side. They were other trees in the periphery but the apple trees stood out the most because of the perfect alignment.
