"They agreed!! They said he can come for introductions tomorrow and the fatiha can be on Friday" I couldn't believe it. My parents actually agreed??
"That is absolute wonderful news! Alhamdulillahi"
"But there's a condition" I knew it. I knew it was too easy.
"Which is?"
"They requested that you and the baby come back home" I stilled. There's no way I'm going back there.
"No!"
"Layla-
"No Habib. I'm not going to even think about going back there"
"Layla they just want to meet their grand baby"
"The grand baby they sent away? No Habib, I'm not going and that's final" I ended the call and attempted to calm my raging heart. Shaking my head to kick out any thoughts of the possibility.

I had just finished praying asr. Rya and I were sitting on the praying mat playing with a stuffed bunny that same evening when the doorbell rang. I rolled my eyes. I didn't want to see or speak to anyone.
I stood up and went to see who it was.Zayn stood distorted by the peep hole. My heart sped up. It's been happening a lot since I found out I was going to marry him. I opened the door and walked back to where I was previously seated without a word.
He said salam and entered the house. Rya ran to hug her 'dada'. He lifted her and threw her up in the air. She giggled hysterically.
"Hey" he said to me.
"Hi" I said back, looking everywhere but at him, trying hard to feign nonchalance."Look at me" he says calmly but firmly. I obeyed before I could stop myself.
"How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine...Just tired"
"Habib told me you don't want to go home?"
"I don't want to talk about it"
"Layla, your baby is at risk of falling into that Neanderthal's hands"
" I know what is at stake! Don't use Rya to blackmail me for your own selfish desires!" I snapped. How dare he lecture me about what is at stake like I wasn't the one who actually gave birth to the child.
"My desires?" He looked offended but at this point, I didn't give a damn.
"Yes! You're practically about to score your self a wife for next to nothing, sounds pretty selfish to me!"
He grabbed my face and even though I was angry, butterflies fluttered in my stomach.
He started calmly.
"First of all, don't talk to me like that. Secondly, I don't give a damn if you can boil an egg with your temper right now. I'm not letting you risk Rya falling into bloody Ahmad's hands because you're being too much of a spoilt brat to see reason"He sighed then continued more gently.
"I know they hurt you, more than I can imagine but I'm not letting you loose your daughter because of it. You can fight me on that, or come willingly. Either ways, you're going. Even if I have to carry you over my shoulder"
I didn't realize tears had spilled from my eyes. He wiped the tears from under my eyes before they rolled down. My heart was going a million miles per hour, My mind was reeling with a cocktail of emotions. It made me sick to my stomach.
