A/N: as I chose this chapter name. I just realised the last few chapters were all "definition of..." I did not know that. Opps. XD!

Chapter Four
****

Good day to you, youngsters. I just came back after having a pot of tea with my dearest Mavis. I really shouldn't speak about what happened. Although since I've taken quite the liking to you lot...

I'll tell you that she looked quite fetching. The sight that lay before me eyes as she approached, nearly made me fall in love again. I'm not going to deny my ogling since she was just magnificent.

But alas, I must control the fact that I am enamoured with her. The love that still lingers must be obscured from her sights or else...

Nevertheless, I shall continue with the tragedy that I began to tell you. After all I haven't continued in quite a while and we just got to the best part!

The Gardens of Fairytail.

A grand gate stood mighty before Natsu. He wondered how long the gate had been there. He marvelled at Mavis' desperation to construct everything to be perfect. It wasn't a rare phenomenon to see Mavis make the place astonishing. Especially the front door.

He recalled it being a indescribable sight. The gate shook and shifted back as smoke billowed from the bottom, creating soft mist to encircle his feet. Mavis sure had a side to her that wanted to show off, especially to him.

Natsu took a prideful step forward and strolled with his hands behind his back. A path made of pure silver stretched as far as Natsu's eyes could see. His eyes glazed up to find the Sun wasn't present, yet light streamed down onto his body. An unknown source of light...

On either side of the silver path, blossomed plants of all sorts. Stunning flowers, ancient flourishing trees and even a few eerie looking mushrooms. He noticed a doe scrutinising him as he passed. It stepped back behind the tree thinking it was camouflaged. A bird perched on Natsu's shoulder right before whistling a simple tune.

The two ambled along the path, capturing the scene, whilst Natsu's brain went haywire for the sublime sight was something beyond the ordinary.

His fellow Guardian of Time. Natsu began to ponder about what kind of person he was. Natsu surmised him to obviously be mediocre compared to himself. It was rumoured that his essence was formed from darkness. Obviously an inferior being since he was an equal to the Demons.

Generations it had been since Natsu last felt a futile and nugatory sensation.

He was curious.

His inquisitive conception made him speculate quite a few rather bizarre interpretation of how this Guardian may turn out to be.

A madman perhaps? He was a demon after all. A giant? Like Mavis always said: the bigger the better!

Or maybe a true demon. A monstrous being with a heinous aura and repulsive profile who was in fact a giant and madman!

Natsu shivered at the thoughts swirling incessantly through his imaginative mind. He stood up (A/N: I was going to write "stood up erect" but I knew you guys would take that in the wrong way =_=) straight and continued walking.

The bird flew off after fear grew in his muscles. As he came into an opening with a palace formed from solid gold and platinum.

Natsu trudged into the interior of the palace after a few more birds ushered him inside. They flew around him, tweeting and whistling, pushing him towards the door.

The palace wasn't what Natsu had been anticipating at all. He presumed it'd be a monumental building since Mavis created it. However there were no walls or even a ceiling. Nothing extravagant! It was just a simple garden with a circular table in the placed middle.

Natsu moved towards the table only to find a ticking clock.

"Hello there." Natsu swivelled around to find a man standing quite close to him. "My name is Gray." He stuck out his hand, whilst smiling at Natsu.

Natsu took a few steps back only to find the table had turned into a barrier preventing him from escaping. His hands gripped onto the clock or table or whatever it was.

Natsu had been in hell for quite a long time. His only company had been Demons and damned souls. This man had the essence of a Demon, yet he seemed to be quite similar to an Angel.

"What are you?" He asked. The man who was called Gray, raised an eyebrow at him.

"I'm the Guardian of Order! You must be the Guardian of Chaos right?"

So he wasn't a gigantic, monstrous madman!

Yes, yes. It's doubtless to say that conjectures have been made by you all. All thinking "is that how they met?" Regrettably that is indeed how those two half-wits met.

The story may have some humour to it now, nonetheless romance does blossom soon after. Specks of calamity intertwine their strings of fate. To be fair, fate had it embedded in there long ago.

Happily ever after only exists in Fairytails. (A/N: see what I did there;)
