-Yara-

My mother shipped me off to Gravity Falls, Oregon three days ago. She said I would be better off there, but I'm not so sure of that. After several bus rides, I've got to thinking, and this doesn't seem like a good path for me. I should be home with her. She needs my support, though she always says she can take care of everything all by herself. We've been poor for as long as I can remember. My mother worked day and night for me to have food and clothes. I started working odd jobs to help out, but my mother never let me give her the money I made.

She said I have to spend it on myself, but honestly all she focused on was me having a better life. She always spent any extra money she had buying my something nice. I got art supplies and cheap video games a lot of the time. It was all very sweet of her. Though she bought the items, they were still great to have. However, the pictures I made from those art supplies I still treasure dearly. No matter what quality they are, they're my prized possessions.

My mother spent her hard earned money just so I could have a little fun. Now, I just wish she'd let me help her out in return. Maybe that's why she truly sent me away, Now I can't try to help out as much. She deserves the money for herself, though. I just wish she'd accept it. Throughout the bus ride, I kept thinking of her. To try and take my mind off of it I tried to drawing some forest scenes we drove past, but none of them could shield my mind from thoughts of my mother.

I need to go back for her. How can I have this better life while she's suffering at home? It's not fair. However, it's harder for mother to give me money now. I hope she'll spend more of it on herself. For now, I'll only spend the money I've made, and I'll send her letters saying I've got it all covered. Then she won't need to give me anything. Maybe this will be better for her, just maybe. I suppose it could be better for me as well.

However, If I don't get there soon, I swear my legs are going to fall off. This is my fourth bus yet in my trip to Gravity Falls. It felt like a million years had went by since I had been sitting there. Suddenly, my head whipped around as I read the the words: Welcome to Gravity Falls. A sigh of relief left my mouth. "Finally," I whispered happily. The sound of an eerie squeak filled my ears as I felt the bus slow down. As it halted, the driver called out, "Is anyone getting off?"

I stood up, and grabbed my suitcase and bag. I unsurely made my way the narrow bus aisle. As I hobbled off the bus I looked around. It was all just looked like a big forest, it looked the same as everything I had passed on the bus. Before I had a chance to thank the driver, the bus zoomed away. It's sighed, and looked down at my drawstring bag. It was made of blue mesh with a fabric zipped up pocket on the front. I opened the zipper and took out small picture my mother had given me. It was a photo of the two of us. I was very young in the photo.

The picture was of my 8th birthday. I was wearing a crown and my mother had one on as well. We were sitting in front of my Ariel themed birthday cake with bright smiles on our faces. I held the picture to my heart and let out a sigh. I missed my mother so much already. My thoughts were quickly dispersed by a mans voice cutting through the air. "Hello! Are you Yara? I'm Soos!" I looked to my right to see a man smiling at me. He was a heavyset man with tan skin and a wide, yet slightly crooked, smile. He wore a gray hat, jorts, and a green t-shirt with a question mark on it. I attempted to smile at him in a friendly way as I walked over to him.

"It's nice to meet you," I say. "You too, dude," he replies. We began to walk to the place I'd be staying for the summer. My uncle Stan's Mystery Shack. My mother was like was sister to him. She said they haven't spoke in years, but they must have spoke a bit if I'm staying with him. Meeting him felt weird. He was like a memory of the life my mom once led. It was odd to bring that all back up. As I followed Soos down the trail from the bus I told him, "I like your shirt." He smiled at me and chuckled, "Thanks, it's sold at the Shack." I nodded as I twiddled with my fingers. I looked around the forest. It was actually quite beautiful, though I had acquainted the forest to be the same as the ones I passed on the bus, this one was a lot more eccentric than expected it to be.

We got out of the thick part of the forest, and then I saw it, the Mystery Shack. Hidden amount at the trees was a small sector home to a maroon, wooden building. The sign read "Mystery hack", the S must fallen sometime over the years. The building seemed very old, so it made sense. "Here it is," Soos says to me. I nodded, and extended my hand to him. "Thank you," I said to him. He happily shook my hand, "I'm always here to help." I thanked him again before walking up to the door the front door.

The porch was rickety, and scared me a bit to walk across, but I took a deep breath in. Nervously, I moved my hand up to the door to knock. It opened with a loud creak, and revealed a young man about my age. He was a reasonably cute brunette with big round brown eyes. His nose was small, almost like a button nose. His lips were a bit larger than most guys I've met, but not huge. He hid most of his hair beneath blue and white baseball cap with a blue cartoon tree on the front. He was white, but not extremely pale, and he wore a questionably nice dark blue vest over his orange shirt and Light gray shorts. He also had on black vans. His round face flushed when he saw me. "Um, hello?" He asked. "Hi, I'm Yara," I say to him with a small smile.

She extended her hand to me, "It's nice to meet you," She paused. I took her hand and filled him in the blank, "Dipper." I could feel my face beating red. This girl was extremely pretty, and I was not prepared for that. She had wide, dark eyes they seemed to glow. Her skin was the color of dark caramel, and it was all clear and smooth. Her hair was black and flowing, and ended at a bit past her shoulders. It was made up of curls that weren't quite ringlets, but but not loose enough to quite be called beach waves. Her eyes brows were arched beautifully, and her nose was rather flat yet upturned. Her lips were large and naturally pouty, she had coated them in a maroon lip gloss.

She looked perfect. I assumed it would be Soos or someone else at the door, not a beautiful girl. She looked to be about my age, but I couldn't quite tell. She wore baggy, dark blue joggers with a maroon belt. She also wore a white button up shirt with a blue strip going down the seam of the sleeves. Her shoes were like combat boots, but they had a thicker base. They were made with blue velvet, and they were graced with multicolored flowers, including maroon ones. "I believe this is where I'm going to be staying for awhile," she says to me. My mouth just opens a bit, but I can't seem to form an answer.

"Does Stanford Pines live here?" She asked me. I nodded, "Ya-Yeah, he lives here." She nods, "Where is he?" At that moment Mabel and Stan both came to the door came rushing to the door. Mabel, my twin, was always excited to get the door. While Stan must have been expecting this girl, at least, that's what she claims. Stan straighten his suit jacket and made an attempt at a smile, "You must be Yara, I'm Stan." He had his classic salesman suit on, but his hair looked more done up than usual. His stomach wasn't peaking out of his suit like usual, it was quite strange. All of it. He took a hard look at her, "You look so much like your mother." He sighed, turning to Mabel and I, "Mabel, Dipper meet your new roommate, Yara."

Mabel jumped up and down and screeched, "I get a girl roommate! Yes! We're going to be best friends!" Her sweater bounced with her, as did her skirt. She always loved wearing baggy clothes. Her brown hair was pushed back with a headband, and her smile was bright. She jumped towards the new girl and hugged her. "I'm sure we will be," Yara chuckles a bit. "Come we have to show the attic!" Mabel says excitedly. "The attic?" She replies, clutching her bag nervously. "It's our room, yours-yours too. I guess," I say, looking down to my feet. I roll on them anxiously.

My face was still hot, and I could feel my palms starting to sweat. I don't know how I'll be able to survive seeing this beautiful girl everyday. When I wake up, looking horrific, she'll be right there. I bet she's looks wonderful in the morning. Either way, she's going to see me looking like trash and embarrassing myself constantly. I don't know how I'm going to do this.

"Alright, lets go!" Mabel cheered. I nervously smiled, extending my hand to Yara, "Lets go."
