Meredith's point of view
Homeroom teacher: Here, everyone. These are all the holiday homework you have to do. Make sure you submit it when the school reopens. You have 5 essays, 3 comprehensions and read 3- no 4 books and write which of these books you like, which book will affect your life, which book you will keep reading and which book you will pass onto next generation. Happy Holiday!
Our homeroom teacher, Ms. Sherly smiled while she delivered the works to our desks. My best friend, Noelle looked at the mountain of homework and fainted beside me while I chewed my gum loudly. Her eyes narrowed and her smile of an angel disappeared when she reached my desk. She slammed the homework on my desk, making poor Noelle awake from her faint, letting out a snort. The classmates chuckled at her while I pop my bubble gum in front of her nose. Before she could lecture the soul out of me, the bell rang. Everyone picked up their things and walked out of the classroom.
Ms. Sherly: TAKE YOUR HOMEWORK WITH YOU GUYS!
She shouted but no one seems to care as the day after tomorrow is the best day in the whole year, Christmas. The time where the world unites, the time where the lost souls find their place, the time where the light finally shines over the dark. Some love Christmas while some don't. It's rare to find someone who doesn't like Christmas especially if the person is the main character's daughter! Yup, you guess it right. Well, I don't care if you guess or not but I'm going to say it.
I'm Santa Claus's daughter. Yup, the person who kept saying Ho, ho, ho for no reason and literally, for no meaning. The guy has a beer belly, a long white beard, and has an obsession with cookies and milk. Yes, that's my father.
Noelle: Aren't you excited for Christmas?!?
Noelle cheerfully said as she shut the locker with a loud noise, making the locker shake side to side. Her chocolate brown eyes sparkled in excitement as she waited for my answer which I replied with "hm." She hooked her hand around my arm as she sang "Deck the halls with boughs of holly, fa la la la la, la la la la." This is our routine. Well, this month is for Christmas so she sang Christmas songs while other days, she would sing any songs. There aren't any songs she doesn't know.
Meredith: Shall we head to the cafeteria?
Noelle: Yes, please. I am in need of coffee.
Meredith: And hot chocolate.
She chuckled and we went to the cafeteria. Our school doesn't end early because we have this period called "Snack Time" which is at the end of the class, so we can do anything we want at that time. Some kids like to play sports while some kids binge-watch them. I'm on the binge-watch side. After buying all the food and drinks for the day, we went to the sports hall where a rugby match is going to start soon. I sat at the third bench with Noelle beside me and we were right on time. Kids were warming up while the cheerleader kids practice their dances. Noelle started munching on chips while I took a bite of my strawberry cookie. The match begins and kids started to cheer them while I took a sip of my hot chocolate. Noelle on the other hand, shouted with a mouthful of chips, making a mess on her cute soft pink pattern skirt. I helped her clean her skirt as we focused on the match.
???: Sorry, excuse me. I'm so sorry but can you move a bit? Thanks. Sorry, oops, sorry.
Noelle nudged my elbow as I rolled my eyes, knowing who that was.
???: M-May I sit here?
I looked at the guy whose eyes widened and his cheeks started to turn bright red. He started to mumble out words and I nodded, not interested in the gaze of Noelle who is busy looking at us back and forth.
???: T-Thank you.
He sat beside me and watched the match at the front. I side-eyed him but quickly averted my focus back on the match when he turned to my side to grab himself popcorn. His light natural blonde hair, his green eyes, his rosy cheeks, his red nose, his pink plump lips, he's none other than Joseph. The nerd who has had a crush on me since I attend this high school. I thought he would confess to me but it's been 2 years and yet, he doesn't have enough courage to do so. It's weird for him because who would want to be with a goth girl? Anyways, the match finished and our school won, which I didn't expect and I lost my focus because the nerd has the audacity to put his thigh beside my thigh when he has the large space himself. What a per-
