Hey, it's Karter here! Yep, my parents chose to jazz things up with a K instead of a C. I'm Karter Marie Adams, and I can barely contain my excitement because today is my last day of school as a junior! Standing at 5'3", with brown hair and hazel eyes, I'm ready to make some memories today. Oh, and did I mention I was born on Halloween? Talk about a unique birthday! My trio of besties includes the fabulous Kay, the charming Alec, and the vibrant Edie.

Now, let me introduce you to my friends! Kay is a pocket rocket at 5'0" with sleek black hair and stunning crystal blue eyes. She's currently dating my awesome best friend Alec and is a cheerleading dynamo. Alec towering at 6'1", sports a tousled blonde hairdo and striking green eyes, and he lights up the football field. And then there's Edie—she stands at 5'9", rocks brown hair with bold blonde highlights in a stylish quiff, and she's happily dating her boyfriend Gregory, who I adore like a brother, even though I have two super annoying twin brothers who are 22 and still living at home, plus a sister who's getting married in December!

"Mom, Dad, I'm outta here!" I call as I dash to Kay's car. She's my go-to ride, especially after my little mishap where I almost crashed into an old lady and plowed right through a fence (oops!). "Hey girl, are you pumped for the party tonight?" Kay asks with a sparkle in her eye as I hop in. "Honestly, I'm not sure yet," I reply, trying to play it cool.

We finally pull up to school and spot Alec and Edie hanging out in the parking lot. "Hey, guys!" we call out, making our way over. "What's up with the ride with Kay?" Alec cracks up, trying to hide his laughter. "Yeah, spill! What happened?" Edie chirps. Totally forgot Alec was in Virginia with his grandparents when everything unfolded.

"I nearly mowed down an old lady and took out a fence," I admit with a sheepish grin. "Yikes! Poor lady!" Edie exclaims, giving me a warm hug. "So, who's ready to party tonight?" Kay asks, bouncing on her toes. "Count me in!" Alec chimes. "I'll think it over," I say, rolling my eyes as we head to first period.

First class? Math! Ugh! I can't stand that subject, especially with a teacher who seems to have it out for me—thanks to my brothers being infamous troublemakers in her class. Finally, lunch rolls around, and I feel a flutter of excitement. "Are you going to the party?" Kay begs me. "I don't know...," I say, feigning annoyance. "Come on, Karter! I'll help you get all glammed up!" "Okay, okay, I'll go if you just stop!" I say, crossing my arms but secretly looking forward to it.

At last, school is over. "I'll be back to pick you up at 6:30!" Kay calls as she drops me off at home. "Sounds great! Bye, my fabulous best friend!" I reply, my heart racing at the thought of tonight's adventures!
