We woke up tied up together, our backs to a wall, in some sort of basement location. My ears and lungs burned and I could tell that I was not the only one, someone's breathing was just as bad. Whatever that gas was really did a number on us. There was just enough sunlight to creep into the windows to allow us to know that the room we were in was rectangular with only one door. Besides us, the only other thing in the room was a lone metal chair. Firestarter and Hunter were tied up next to me. Moriko was further away tied up to Zack and Jose. We were all naked; Moriko's armor and swords were missing, along with Jose's riot gear and club, and everything else we had with us. The way that Hunter was tied meant that he could not move and use his mouth at all. His legs were hog tied together and his jaw was tied to our hands. I knew that if Firestarter used her fire to burn the rope, she would definitely hurt me and possibly him in the process. I didn't need to tell her because looking into her eyes alone told me she understood the danger. Upon closer inspection, our arms, necks, and other body areas were covered in burns and blisters, but not from fire. Even Hunter appeared to have bald spots to his fur and some lesions on his skin, especially on his face. It actually hurt this time to have Moriko so far away from me and I felt through our weakened bond that it hurt her as well. Regardless of whatever it was that was going on between us, it killed us both to just be 10 feet apart while there was a threat looming over our heads. Jose and Zack were still asleep. So whatever the gas was, had more of a stronger effect on regular mundane humans. Except for Hunter, the rest of us were not gagged, for now.

"Moriko! Are you okay?" I called out to her. I could feel her relief that I still cared for her. Why would I not care for her? Now was not the time to deal with that.

"Yes Abe-San!" Moriko answered with love in her voice. "I think I am okay. How about you?"

"My ears and lungs hurt but I am okay too."

I could feel her smile and calm down a bit. I calmed down too.

Firestarter stayed quiet but I could see that she was fine. Hunter was thrashing every once in a while.

Hunter! Don't do that! You will tire yourself out or may even hurt yourself! I told him.

I know but this feels very uncomfortable and my natural instincts are kicking in! Us special wolves are still just animals you know! Hunter reminded me. Everything hurts, especially my face!

I know, I know. So I just tried my best to soothe him and his pain. Hunter appreciated it.

I bumped into Firestarter. "How about you?"

"I am... alright... " She told me but she did not feel alright. Fear had been slowly growing inside of her. Fear and Deja vu.

I called out to both Zack and Jose. Only Jose started stirring. Before anyone could say anything when Jose woke up, the door opened up. Like a predator stalking prey, a man slowly strolled in, closing and locking the door behind him.

"Ah! Most of you are awake now!" The man said smiling, eating us with his eyes. He moved the chair closer to us and sat down. He continued to stare at us.

Everyone stayed quiet but their emotions were screaming at me. I couldn't hold myself together any longer. "What the fuck do you want with us?!?"

"Oh, sharp mouth!" His eyes bored into me and I felt what he was feeling for the first time: death, excitement, and joy. "You must be the leader then!" He smiled again. "I will kill you last and I will enjoy making you watch me kill the rest first!" He pulled out a Bowie Knife. Then he just resumed staring.

I kept quiet after that, not wanting to get us in any more trouble. After we stayed quiet, desperately trying not to stare back at him, the man then spoke up.
