[Chapter Three] Past, Present, Future

Opening her eyes Lillie was overcome with a feeling of relief. She had a moment of thinking she was going to be late for work before he had realized that it was Saturday and she did not have to go to work. Don't get her wrong, she liked her job, but nothing could beat the feeling of sleeping in and not feeling bad about it. Not to mention she could get some stuff done today. She had to go shopping and get some clothes and decorations for her studio.

Hopping out of bed still in her pajamas, not wanting to change into day clothes any time soon, she walks to her own mini kitchen to make herself some coffee. Just to help her wake up and not want to stay in bed all day. She mainly only drank coffee on the weekends, or when she pulled all-nighters. Lillie was not the biggest coffee fan, but when she added all the extra stuff she normally does she could enjoy it. Sipping on her coffee she walks to her desk to check her emails and start planning her schedule for next week. She liked to fix up her schedule every week so that she would not forget the big stuff, she did not really stick to the schedule for the most part. On the plus side though she hasn't missed a medical appointment since she started scheduling when she was eighteen.

Five minutes pass when she gets a call, she books it to her bed where her phone rests still plugged into the charger. Her aunt's caller id shows on the screen and Lillie could not help but chuckle while answering the call.

"You do realize you could have just come down to me if you needed something."

A playful groan could be heard over the speaker "I could but then I would have to get out of bed, put pants on, and then walk all the way down all those stairs. I don't know if I could make it lilly bug." That definitely was something her aunt would say. She couldn't really give her grief for it though, she could understand that feeling.

"Alright alright, what's up?" Lillie could not help the humor that peeked through the tone of her voice.

"So I am going to take Matthew on a surprise vacation to Florida. I wanted to see if you were going to be okay while we were gone first. We're gonna be leaving on -----, and be back after two weeks or so."

Lillie took a moment while her brain processed what her aunt had said. They haven't left her alone in the house for longer than a weekend the entire time she has lived with them. They seemed to be a little anxious about leaving her alone for too long. It warmed her heart that they cared so much about her, but at the same time she felt bad that they felt they had to take care of her more than enjoying their life.

"Go for it, I'll be fine. You guys deserve a vacation, you and uncle Matt have been working so hard and have been taking such good care of me. Do you want me to drive you guys to the airport and stuff, save you some money so you don't have to pay for parking?"

"Are you sure, I could always get one of the boys to come down and stay with you for a little bit. They wouldn't mind, they dote on you." She was not wrong about that, her two cousins were like the typical stereotypical older brothers to her. It wasn't always like that, but once her dad got sick, and she spent more time at their house, her cousins just started taking on that role.

"Noooo, it really is fine, I'll be okay. I'm going to have to eventually live by myself anyway, we can just use this as a practice run. Besides it's only going to be two weeks, I can handle it easily." At least she hoped she could.

After a few more assurances that Lillie would be fine, her Aunt ended the call, wanting to start packing already. Lillie already knew her aunt would go overboard with it. She packed for everything she thought could happen. Although Lillie doubted much could happen down in Florida.

Sliding back off her bed she walks to her closet to put on some outside clothes. She has to go to port Angeles today, needed a few more things for her room and some new clothes. About a week earlier she had cleaned through her closet, throwing away stuff she did not wear anymore and didn't fit. Her closet was looking pretty empty.
