This chapter is going to be rather short, chapter 6 is going to be a rather long one so this is kind of like a mini chapter

Lillie had woken up to the unusual quiet of the house in a daze. She laid in bed staring at the ceiling for a couple of minutes before groaning and sitting up. The nightmare made her feel more fatigued. It felt like she had barely gotten any sleep. After taking a shower and getting ready for the day she calls Charlie and tells him she isn't going to come in for the day. Of course he had no problem with it, he said he would email her the stuff she needed for the day, she said her thanks and hung up the phone.

She makes up a quick breakfast while waiting for the email from Charlie to arrive. It took about 20 minutes for everything she needed to be sent over, she decided to start working on it right away, not wanting to lag behind.

Two hours later she ended up actually finishing everything that she needed to. After emailing the finished documents she emailed them to Charlie immediately. She packs up a bag for the day, some snacks, her water bottle, phone charger, etc. While she was working she had made plans with one of her cousins that lived in Seattle, she was going to go over and spend some time with him. She made the excuse to herself that she just missed him but she knew that she actually just did not want to be in the house.

The drive to Seattle was rather easy, the weather was pretty good which made the usually rain slick roads easier to drive on. It took about three and a half hours to get there, checking her dashboard clock she had arrived around 1 pm. Her and her cousin had planned on meeting up at a cafe near his place. She was able to find a parking spot down the street from the cafe, she did not mind the short walk.

When she got to the cafe she realized she had gotten there 10 minutes early, and knowing her cousin he was either going to be exactly on time or late, never early. She decided to get some tea and a little snack while waiting for him. The cafe wasn't too busy so she didn't have trouble finding an empty table for them both to sit at. It was a pretty nice place, looking around she liked the more antique style they were going for. She could see why her cousin suggested this place, he was just the type to love places like this.

The bell at the cafe entrance rang and in walked the man of the hour. She stood up with a smile, waving him over. He saw her quickly and made his way over, smiling back at her. They shared a hug before he went to the counter to get his drink. They had planned on eating lunch here too, so she wasn't surprised when he had come back with a tray of food. He had his cup of coffee and two sandwiches.

She takes her food and smiles warmly at him. "How have you been Mikey? How's school going?" He was majoring in art history. His parents were a little worried about what he would do for work after he graduated. They supported him nonetheless, it was what he wanted to do and what he loved. Her aunt and uncle were happy as long as he was happy. They were like that with all of them, they worried and doted over their sons and her.

He takes a large bite before speaking. "I'm doing good, school's good too, exams are coming up soon so I have just been studying like 24/7." He sips his drink before clearing his throat. "How about you, what have you been up to?" She could hear him trying to keep the worried tone out of his voice. He had always been protective of her, she was his only female cousin. It had only gotten worse when her father had passed. He reminded her of the cliche over protective brothers you read about in books and see in movies.

She takes a sip of her tea to clear her mouth from the sandwich. ¨I've been good, same as you. You know me though, I haven't been doing much of anything other than working. Went shopping the other day but that was about it recently." She felt bad saying it, the family has always been trying to get her to get out of the house more and to make more friends. It made her feel like she was in high school all over again, but she knows they are just worried.
