He hated how unfair things were, how a soul as young and kind and wondrous as his sister, could be taken so soon. Sooner than they'd both realized.
Iya collapsed the next day. Her lungs were failing. The girl was rushed to the hospital, and as she laid on that bed, being rolled to the operating room, she hardly took in her surroundings, a little too lost in thought.
It was easier to give her heart away knowing she'd loved someone with it. It was easier to rest peacefully when she knew she lived without regrets. She wanted to fall in love before she died. And, she did, with some grand miracle by the works of which she'd never know.
Ni-ki would never know.
But, Lee Jaeyi knew this. She didn't believe in death. Giving it away didn't seem so scary anymore. She silently swore she'd be alright.
