I woke up to the smell of burning. I quickly looked around for Ezra, but he wasn't in the bed. I scrambled out of the sheets and walked to the door quickly. I shuffled down the hall to find him opening the front door, and windows were already open. He noticed me after opening the door, and I start laughing when he turns around. There's pancake batter all over his Grey T-shirt and red plaid boxers.
"What are you laughing at?" He asked pouting and looking down at himself. "Do you want a hug?"
"No, no, no, get away from me," I screamed as he came power walking towards me with his arms open. I ran down the hall and into the bathroom giggling the whole way. I heard him running after me so I closed the door behind me and sat down in the tub, pulling the shower curtain closed. I heard the door creak open and Ezra saying, "Dun, dun, dunnn," as he entered.
The shower curtain was abruptly pulled open and I was thrown over a well known shoulder. I screamed and giggled, then I just went limp, hoping he would think something was wrong.
"Natalie, are you alright?" he asked as he walked down the hall. I stayed motionless. "Nat," he said laying me down in a recliner. My eyes were closed and I tried to be as still as possible. "Well, it looks like I'm going to have to give you mouth to mouth," he said sighing. He kissed me gently and I smiled into his mouth. He quickly picked me up and hugged me to his body, instantly spotting me with batter. My giggling turned into laughing as he threw me back onto the recliner and started tickling me. "St-stop, please, stop," I said in between laughs. "I-I can't br-breathe." He stopped and looked at me smiling like an idiot. "I love you," he said.
"I love you too, but did you actually get anything cooked?" I asked laughing.
"Nope, but after I clean this mess up and you take a shower and go change into the clothes on the bathroom bar, we can stop by the Waffle House," he said standing back up and walking into the kitchen.
"Okay then." I rolled off the couch and stood up walking to the bathroom. I walked in towards the bar picking up the clothes I failed to notice just a couple minutes ago. The outfit was cute, and the price tags were still on them. There was a white bra and pair of white underwear laid with it. The outfit was a turquoise tank with a big bow on the back, white skinny jeans, and tan sandals.
"Do you like it?"
I jumped, and clutched my chest. "Gosh Ezra, you scared the crap out of me," I said, my breathing erratic, "but yes, I love it."
"I hoped you would, Mae helped me pick it out," he said beaming, "I bought a curling iron too."
"Ezra!"
"What?!"
I set down the clothes and walked over to him and hugged his waist. "Stop spoiling me so much."
"No, I can't."
"Well, why not," I asked frowning up at him as he wrapped his arms around me and answered.
"Because you're my princess and you deserved to be spoiled because you deserve the best and I love you."
"Okay," I felt a tear slip from my eye,"you're making me cry. Get out babe," I said laughing. He shuffled out the door. "I love you," I screamed watching him jump and slip causing him to fall. "That's payback," I said closing the door quickly.
