Y/N: 214, this is our room right here.
I used the key card I received from the front desk to open the door. I tried to be a gentleman and hold the door open for Saber, but she insisted on being a gentleman and holding the door open for me. We walked in to see that there was only one bed.
**Are they serious? I asked for a room for two... I didn't mean two people in the same bed.**
I looked back at Saber who wasn't understanding what the issue was.
**They think we're a thing..? One bed...**
Y/N: Go ahead and take the bed. I'll sleep on the floor.
Saber: Master, I do not mind sharing the bed with you, but if it makes you uncomfortable then I want you to have it. Your rest is most important.
Y/N: Nope, all yours.
Saber: I need not sleep anyways, I believe you should take it.
**What is this? A competition to see who can be more selfless..?**
Y/N: I decline.
I laid down on the ground and pulled out my phone. I had to text my adoptive parents a lie telling them I'd gone to a friend's house. Saber was hesitant to take the bed as she was trying to be selfless. If she was a guy, I'd have no problem taking the bed, but I've always had a softer side for females and children, so there was no way I was putting her on the floor while I took the bed. She sat on the bed.
Y/N: Hey, Saber.
Saber: What is it, master?
Y/N: What exactly is the relationship between a Master and a Servant?
Saber: A servant is summoned by the will of their master and some form of catalyst. A weak-spirited master will not be able to call on a Heroic Spirit to aid them, but a servant will also never be summoned by chance.
Y/N: How did I summon you, then? I didn't even know what I was doing, I just replicated what I'd seen my brother do.
Saber: Well, unlike other servants, I answer the call of my own free will. You gave me a path, so I decided to take it. For that, I am in your debt. Other servants do not have a choice.
**So if I had tried to summon any other servant than Saber, I would've ended up with nothing? But she said I needed a catalyst, what did I have that caused Saber to come? Donatello had that golden dragon, what about me?**
Y/N: You say that servants don't have free will, but surely the word 'servant' couldn't be substituted for the word 'slave' or 'minion' right?
Saber: It all depends on the master. Some see their servants as nothing more than a tool. Others are able to see their servants as equals. Masters supply their servants with mana so they are able to exist in this world, so whatever the Master wishes their servant to be is what they will be.
Y/N: So they're like an extension of a Master's body? Don't they ever get rebellious if they're incompatible with their master?
Saber: They do, but since their master is who maintains them, they will not act unless they get a new master.
Y/N: New master? So the authority of a servant can be transferred to somebody else.
Saber: Yes. Those markings on your hand.
I looked at the back of my hand at my Command Seals.
Saber: Masters can use those only 3 times to compel their servant to do anything they command. When they are gone, the bond between servant and master is severed. The seals can however be transferred to a new vessel.
